Tip on filling rear axle.....

Changed the gear lube in the rear axle today. The way the casting of the differential housing is makes it hard to get the tip of the gear lube bottle in and tipped up so all the lube drains. Just pick up a few inches of 3/8 or 1/2" plastic hose and stick it on the bottle. Then the bottle can be tipped up and fully drained with ease.

they make caps that have that on them and screw onto the bottle. it turns as well to stop the flow, if you didn't need to use the whole bottle kinda thing.

Good tip Mark.

I got a little pump for those bottles, that method did not work for the 4 speed.

Yeah, I bought a pump as well. The tube is how I did it before I had one, though.
