Easiest thing to test is compression.

Cylinders 2, 3, 4:

Great!

Cylinder 1:

****.

I drop a little bit of oil in the cylinder

my reaction:

So I said **** it. What is the worse that can happen at this point?

I ran Motor Medic through the car twice, and put a drop in the cylinder.

I didn't take a picture, but now its squeezing ~174psi!!!!!! Car runs much better now. It has been going strong for 3 weeks. will check compression again soon just to see.
Does no one else think this is the funniest thing ever??

well, felt like updating my ****box posts since I love bad cars.

Since this post, BRZ wheels installed, all windows tinted, all new brakes with hawk HPS pads, new LF caliper.

few months ago, A/C guy backed into my cah. of course he hits my ****ing subaru and not my firebird. my firebird needs a rear bumper!

Off to Chris' Auto Body. They fixed it and installed my spoiler for me! rear tailgate painted, new rear bumper...

Here is how it is now.

Also, trying out some GC8 WRX front seats. sweet tiger print brah!

On the table is a possible turbo/5speed swap on the cheap. engine aint doing so well even with the snake earl in it.

Here's an update for you bitches. Winter car project over winter...

Loaded it up to get it ready to change literally everything.

Dropped everything off, went to drive back home and... rip

Just shut off, no noise. CEL came on for a second before it stalled, thinking Crank sensor but didn't bother to investigate. Pump primes. It knew it was time...

Had to drop off the last piece of the puzzle:

Tearing it down to replace every seal.

Compression test 145-150-150-150

Teardown begins

Thanks Mr. UPS man!

(yes, im replacing the filter)

Since I am going WRX 4 pot brakes in the future, I wanted to stick with 16" wheels for better everything in the winter. So I got some cheap forester XT wheels and got some new skins on them.

The blizzaks I had on my steelies are now on my stock ford focus wheels for my focus.

Pile of parts in the corner, still waiting for some parts to come in. Going to be fun

Slow and steady...

Some fun with panorama shots

plop

Like playing a crane game

move to the other side of the shop

prepping bay for paints

rad support straightened out. might re attach bumper support this time.

debating on doing ARP studs and head gaskets.

Currently cleaning up the block!

Also took some old parts off. exhaust going to someone local. MSD coil/intake tube going to a 2nd gen legacy facebook friend. stock TD04 turbo probably scrap and TGVs (Subaru ******** throttle things) going to the guy I bought the TGV deletes from

Took apart the engine to do ARP studs and head gaskets and found scoring on the cylinder walls. Going to do an AVCS EJ205 (but don't enable AVCS so i can use USDM ECU, etc.) longblock.

Fitted Power steering res and Electronic Booster Controller Solenoid

didn't need this but I did it anyway. Whiteline big rear sway bar

picked up some WRX STI front lower A arms and a WRX whiteline front swaybar.

Found a possible new set of summer wheels. They are from a 2011-2014 WRX. 17x8 and the offset is good. should fit nice without rolling fenders

The fun begins!

went a little ham on the exhaust coating and powder coating. Smacking myself for not trying to find a good Equal Length Header to run.

DP bung for a/f sensor

Bay nice and fresh

Found a scoop extender and a Zerosports Radiator Shroud (running joke in the 2nd gen community to have one)

Also got a zerosports hood shroud (for top mount intercooler, since our NA cars, the scoop is blocked off)

I think I went overboard lol. I just finally wanted a fun, different daily.
