So I made it down there. I bottomed out the y pipe on the beautiful roads of Oldbridge and at 1/8th mile the y pipe came off the header.
Had to drive home open header. Luckily the pass side stayed connected.

Overall tonight was a lot of fun and apparently I was the only Hellcat there. I was pleasantly surprised at peoples reaction to the car and it started a lot of conversations. SilverDropTop made it out with his CTSV, KirkEvil with the TBSS and Redsoxstinks in the 3rd gen. I know other members were there but didn't see them or have an opportunity to swing over.
I got to the track around 5:45, got through tech and then right into the lanes. Before I could do anything, I was called to make a run. This would turn out to be the best run of the day. I left soft in 2nd gear and ran a 11.8 @ 123 with a 2.0 60'. In doing that, I managed to beat a nice C6Z who ran a similar mph. The guy was cool and chatted in the lanes after the run. The 2nd run was versus a GTR. I tried to leave harder in 2nd and the car literally had 0 traction. I ice skated to a 2.56 60' and aborted the run. You can assume the GTR did a bit better.... The 3rd run was versus a Boss 302 and due to my prior launch failure, I decided to leave soft....but it was too soft going to a 2.1 60' and a 12.0 @ 123. I did beat the Boss at least (video below).
So I think it's safe to say I will be figuring out a drag tire setup and a getting an aluminum driveshaft as well. For those unaware, they put 275s on these cars which is fun for easy burnouts but not so good for 60's.
I stopped on the scale as well and the car weighs 4670 lbs with me in it.

Ouch that blows. Glad to hear you didn't lose the y-pipe completely.

I am back to having clutch problems... Prob going to have to do clutch and the hydrolic setup.
Was it not shifting at high rpms or a different issue?
I got there late, had just enough time to take a leak and then they called lane 1. I saw the HC but I didn't see you. I left right after my run. Figured open headers on a week night was definitely going to get me pulled over. But i lucked out.
Nice Video tho. Car sounds awesome.

High rpm wouldn't go in 2-3-4 and would grind but on street its fine
Just did a replacement dorman master like 200 miles ago
Don't guys do the drill mod to increase flow? Sounds like its not disengaging enough. My shifting is from P to D though
Yeah did it when swapped master but now I'm thinking I will start with a good aftermarket master , re-bleed take it from there since either way it's gotta be done might as well start with the easier and cheaper option
How fun is it to roll into the throttle and put down lengths? nice vid!
I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't wait to get a proper tire on the car to get the 60' down and leave in 1st.

She is a whiny bitch. Regarding the Boss, I will take a look at the slip when I get home.

I'm planning on going but only spectating. Still need to get my nitto's mounted and a little more tuning. Looking forward to seeing some drag racing again.
Never made it down to the track. I've been in bed for the last 2 days with a fever.
car wasnt running right for me, 30mph was lost on the big end. very disapointing, but a bad day/night of racing is better than a good day at work.

What size would you use? I saw a .4 drop with a mild 3000rpm from Circle-D
The problem with putting a stall in the TBSS is that I would like to retain towing ability. I would definitely see gains with a stall but it's not an apples to apples comparison to other LSX platforms with 9.5" converters to the tow rated stalls. Rotational mass is not improved by much since the converter would be close to the stock 12" size, and stall rpm and STR must be lower so the Trans does not cook.
Yank and circle d each make a non billet converter that they claim keeps stock towing capacity. Those are 278mm and 3k is the highest they go. I'm skeptical that this would net the et drop to justify the price and sweat of installing it. My truck is AWD so install is going to be twice the pain in the ass.
The yank pro converters or vigilante multidisc are built to 258mm. I suspect I could get away with towing here and there on a 3200 even though they aren't advertised for it. Downside with these is twice the cost and risk.

2017 Silverado 2500 do you even lift breh?
Need towing ability since my pal is getting out of the towing game and the C5 trans is definitely going explode first time out... I used up all my luck on the camaro trans

The trans will be fine. That poor ls1 will grenade on the missed shift doe

C5 trans will be fine.....Just drive it like an auto and roast that clutch you need to replace.
