I was assured that replacing the lifters will solve the issue or ttp matt would eat the job if it didnt..

Yeah those springs should support whatever you throw at it. Im guessing that you are running a custom TTP cam, do you have an idea of the specs? Or better yet, the cam lobes?

Big cam, but I wouldnt expect you to have a problem with the XE-R lobes. Yes, they are aggressive, but I have never come across a case of someone with lifter float. I would think the LSL or XFI lobes might cause it. Usually a lifter decides to take a complete dump before a consistent resonance motion.

Yeah, I havent heard of it either...
So what do I do... replace the lifters? Hell... I might as well do heads while I'm there...

Is it a gradual or sharp decline of power? Stock heads were not designed to handle the 6400 you probably want to rev to. Also, what intake are you running? I cant remember if you bought/sold an ls6 on here.

Thats another thing I was told about... the air getting turbulent in the heads.
Its basicly static from 4000-5600, no gain...
I have a ported fast 90 and 90 mm tb, the ls6 is what I pulled off the car.

Unfortunately I had a lifter go bad and I had to pull the heads just to replace them...it is not fun, but you can do it yourself. Aftermarket heads would be worth doing if you do pull them considering the price of gaskets, bolts, fluids, and headache.

Well this started out as oil pan gasket and is now turning into my 408 build I always wanted. Just picked up a 6.0 iron block over the weekend for $200....

CAMARO2YOU..... while everyone else went off subject. an gm pump is suffecient. but you can go with a melling oil pump and compcams double roller chain & gear, same parts as slp just cheaper bought seperatly. as for swapping cam,& springs, the "might as well" clause kind of does get implied. you are already that far. just stick a mild cam and springs in like a hot cam swap or 525-570 lift cam in it. will give decent power gain & won't be too harsh on your stock lifters. more aggressive than that, really not worth doing unless your gonna trougha set of afr's or tfs heads on it.

p.s. taking the valve covers,rockers & pushords out rotate crank
180* & lifters will stay retained in lifter cups. using dowels always a good precautionary measure. and change the pushrods to hardened chromely "might as well" since your already there !!!

Thanks for the advice, ill probably go that route on the ls1 from the car before I put it in the s10.
