Speaking to a lot of people with that comment. Not everyone wants to drive their cars in the rain after cleaning them for a day or more. Yea its a car and they are made to go in the rain but it just wasn't the best day to do the event IMO. Glad you got a lot of runs and wished I could have made it.

Yea it was a general comment, my car is far from show car status, so rain only scares the driver.

Third gear apparently didnt want to come along for the last 2 runs. It waited for me back in the pits though. Nothing is more awesome then flying through the traps at 7 grand.

Also, the 9 bolt is no longer a posi. average 60ft was 2.5-3.5. Sure the weather didnt help, but my best 60 was 2.3 and i managed to pull down 96.4mph with 2 speeds....
Now all I need is about 2500 bucks to get a new rear, trans and converter, and I should be ready for 13s.

Its a 700R4, and thanks man Ill let you know whats gunna happen with it. I think Ive spent my budget on car parts for this year. Driving it home, everything was fine. Took a couple of higher RPM runs, everything shifts fine.
Id really like to look for a rear first. A used 4th gen 10 bolt would be perfect. Pref. an LT1 rear.

craigslist, 10bolt out of a camaro w/ brakes and all i think it was $200 and in neptune, nice and close to you.

drain the fluid out of that trans put fresh in and a bottle of friction modifier/shift improver additive. only use the black bottle it goes in all gm transs' i used to own cottman trans on broad st. in trenton. i swear by the stuff.
are you runnin a ext. cooler on it? and what size lines? no smaller than 6-an.
if fluid a little nasty, gettin high temps, the govenor could be stickin & or your 3/4 clutches may be shot.

camaro2you guy on this forum has a 4l60e w/ 5k on it. looking for $500 sure he would take 400-450

also i went to the event. even tho i cleaned the car all day saturday .. i decided to drive there in the rain with a few cars. got messy, but nothing a good wax job wont protect.. it all wiped off. had fun, small turnout, cuz of rain. oh well

Thanks Branden. My calipers are the same or near the same as yours, which is why I either want a LT1 rear or an LS1 rear with all the fixings. My car has no ABS or any sort of traction aid. I dont think Im gunna do anything till fall either, so I have time as well. The 72 has now moved into the main ring. I plopped teh carb on, and tried to start her up, but she just wasnt in the mood.
Ill start looking around for a new rear.
As for the trans, 4L60E will work? My car doesnt have any electrical connections to control the shifts.

I think you'd need a controller for an 'E'

It was pouring when I left Edison, but it stopped midway there and it actually was a nice drive on Rt 31 off of the 287. Took 80 on the way back what a horrible road. Rocks everywhere due to construction. By some miracle I scathed through with no damage to my nose with all those rocks flipping up from other cars lol. My car cleaned up very nicely when I got to the show. When I got home I just hosed it down and wiped everything clean and it was good to go. Though I had to leave before the awards I had a good time and was fun watching the races. Next time I will get on the track too.
