Opinion on my hood
Keep in mind the car is now backhavled and the car will also be getting repainted so that is not a factor (same color scheme).

Are you worried about weight? If not I would just keep it. Or if you want a fiberglass one go with Cervinis.

Keep it, big cowls on 3rd gens look ridiculous unless they are packing some serious heat underneath. Low slung cowl hoods look the best. If I remember correctly you were going to put a BBC in it, if you can get it to fit under that specific hood then by all means try and do that.

Not worried about hight at all i was just thinking about weight and if i wanted to go bigger id go with a glass hood, maybe a 3"glass hood would look good.

Unless you have a reason for a taller cowl (ie intake clearance) then no way. Stay with what you have.
I'd need to see other aftermarket hoods to say yeah or nay. Or maybe a good OE hood. I don't remember the OE options anymore.

The smaller cowl hoods i think look the best overall, Your hood looks really good so like what everyone says if the weight isnt an issue keep yours

i've got a 4" cowl on my bird, it looks fine, but i have a tall carb/cleaner setup so i need the room. If everything you have fits under the smaller cowl, i would keep it, it looks a bit "cleaner"

2 inch cowl on 3rd gens is perfect, anything bigger is meh.

I'm with them buddy, your hood is bad-ass as it is, and I love the color scheme so when it gets repainted its going to be nasty!

I would keep the hood. Any of the cowl hoods above 3 inches look out of place on third gens.

Well the car is currently getting back halved, and I believe a pretty nicely done big block is going under the hood. Don't know how much more people will expect....

that hood is perfect for 3rd gens... both my '85s had a similar hood but the lighter stock chevy blue paint. Nice paint btw 
hmm, maybe its been so long that that's the paint mine had, im drunk dont hate .

i'm gonna say get a glass hood, and here is my logic: you're getting the car back-halved right? which is strictly business. save the weight now and save yourself money later. there is no point to repainting this hood and then wishing you got a glass hood later and then having to paint it again. its gonna make matching the colors harder later and just a flat out hassle. a steel hood weighs about 40-50#. a glass pin on is about 20#. thats a no brainer to me. get the glass now, its more cost efficient and less of a hassle.
