I should just add, I didn't make the trip up there to vacation, lol. I had to go back up to where I was stationed in the Army for a court case. I'm suing the dirtbag who I sold my Durango to for non-payment. Good news is he didnt show and after I showed the contract he had signed and other evidence, the judgement was made in my favor. Now I get access to his bank info, assets, and social security number in order to locate funds to take my money from. I found out I can also put a lien on his house and with some effort, even force the sale of his house.

When my friend(my roommate tagged along for a ride) and I finished with all that paperwork and additional filing, we stopped by a large Army surplus store up there. He wanted to go to Canada which was just 25 more miles North, but we didnt have passports with us so I just went 8 miles west to the lake.

I remember a few years ago I didn't need a passport to get into Canada. Probably changed though.

I just bought a cruze last weekend...

I love it.

You get the 1.4T or the 1.8?

Gas cost like 80 bucks or so for the 10 hour round trip, so not that bad really. Plus that will be repaid to me through the lawsuit as part of my expenses.

I have the 1.4T automatic.
I'm getting close to hitting 20k miles soon and only minor issues to date.
I've had the car a year and a half now and I think I was one of the first to get one(in upstate NY at least) because in Dec 2010, I didn't see another one on the road anywhere. Took about 3 months before I saw a second one.

When my lease ends in March 2014, I'll need a new daily driver. I have decided already that it will be a Cadillac(to compliment my CTS-V). I'm thinking of a used Escalade/SRX or a lease on a new ATS(or buy an ATS-V if I'm crazy enough).

Mind me asking what that issue was? Mine has about 220 miles on it and the passenger seat belt doest always want to retract all the way HAHA!

Mines the 1.4T with the 6spd auto also! I love it! Leather interior heated seats sunroof pioneer sound system, the whole NINE! Its awesome. And a big step up for me, from all my S series trucks

-The thermostat stuck open and I had no heat. There is a TSB and a new part # for a new thermostat, along with a new ecm reflash. All was fixed under warranty. (yours probably already has all the updated stuff)
-The transmission was a little jumpy and wandering before that but now seems to have gotten a lot better since the previously mentioned ecm re-flash. It doesn't "search" for the next gear anymore really.
-Trim around the shifter popped up a little after one of the clips in the console broke for no reason.
-At start-up, sometimes I have a loud whining sound, more like an electrical whine though, but goes away once i start driving. It never caused an issue and in the times it was at the dealer, no one ever brought it up, so I don't care.
-Last week the A/c needed to be recharged already so it must have leaked out over the fall/winter/spring.

Remember, I got mine in Dec 2010, (almost 20k miles soon) so it's one of the first batch out and bound to have some issues. But I am still very satisfied with my decision to get this car. Its comfortable, fun to drive, better on gas than my other cars, and reliable.

And since mine is a lease, I'm not too concerned about its longevity. It just needs to stay running/driving until March 2014. Haha

On cold starts usually? Possibly Secondary Air Pump?

That makes 4 Cruzes I believe?

As to the poster who is thinking about getting the new SRX: Don't. Probably the worst car GM currently makes. Not for faults or defects, but the overall car is just a giant pile of meh.

Get a Terrain Denali with the 3.6. You will be happier.
