you cant buy ZL1 bumpers or fog lights from the dealership without proof of ownership and VIN number, unless they changed something in the past year.

Did not know that. That might be new because tons of people on the camaro 5 forums have changed out there front ends to the zl1. Ive seen them selling new GM bumpers but there also is aftermarket companies making the bumpers as well. I'm sure this will happen with the z28 as well, some aftermarket companies will make the parts to sell.

i know companies like duraflex make replica bumpers, ive dealt with customers that have bought them but cant find the fog lights since they are dealer only and they cant be purchased unless you have proof of ownership. not sure why aftermarket companies dont knock off the lights like they do the bumpers.

I know the last couple times I went to order parts from the dealer they wanted my vin to look up parts unless I had the part number. And these were just regular parts for my truck.

i know that, thats standard procedure. but for certain parts you needed proof of ownership. maybe things have changed

Just found out today that all of the 500 Z/28 2014 cars are sold. I wonder how many are going to be trophy or garage queen Camaro's. Chevy has said it MAY (yeah Right) build another 2,500 units for next year. I guess the profit margin was a factor. Feel sorry for all those POOR people who thought they had something really rare, even though 95% will never be able to drive the car the way it is supposed to driven.

And regardless of whether or not 2500 cars are produced in a future year doesn't change the fact that only 500 were produced/released in the first year. Those cars will be 1/500.
Curious, how is a turd gen "supposed to be driven?"

I think he's speaking from experience with his 1 of 1,000 formula. He kept it in great shape thinking it was gonna be worth something and now its not

I make a comment about spending $75,000 for a track car that most people who can buy these will not have the experience to use all of its performance. Why the wise ass posts about my TURD Gen. I can have fun with it and it did not cost me the moon when I bought it. The fact that i have taken care of it and it was a low production model, does it give anybody the right to mock me with what I do with it!

The Z28 is restricted because they are using up the LS7 parts before they move the handbuilt factory from Wixom, MI to Bowling Green, KY.
That's one of the reasons that the Z28 came to be.

I just bought a used/new-takeoff Z/28 style grille for my '14. (possible heritage grille?)
One of the still "restricted" parts if its from a z/28.
Not one with the flow-tie option though, but the bow-tie does completely remove with no mounting points left.
Should arrive by the end of the week.

lol I wouldnt be marveling at those treads really...theyre just Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R's...they come with about 6/32nds of tread and it looks like those tires have been running overfilled since the middle of the tire is worn and the outside edges still look to have around 3-4/32nds (half depth) left

I read it as him saying you can't drive the car on the street due to the lack of tread. That looks better than an et street to me though!

yeah you'd be surprised the tires you'll see people running on the streets...those pirellis look like snow tires compared to some of the ''tread'' patterns on those

Car is new...pdi just completed.
W/the tread amt, I was more concerned w/this being a 76k track car, dry car only. The hellcat appears to be more of an all around car..if you use the right key. I could only assume how it rides w/its suspension setup on our wonderful roads. As much as I love the car, the zl1 would better suit my needs if I was in the market.

The z28 is a track car. It is not intended to be a daily driver. Cars you mentioned are not comparable.
