Say hello to the 3.5 grape. The 3500 V6 is out of a 2006 Chevy Malibu transverse mounted auto which bolts right up to my auto. I had to fab some motor mounts and some headers to complete the swap. This is a 60 degree V6 similar to the 3.4 but with better flowing aluminum heads, canted valves and cross bolt mains. The 3500 is bolted to the 4l60e trans running off the stock ecm and the 3.4 liter 17lb stock injectors. Fuel and ignition is controlled by the perfect power smt6 unit and (1) 160lb fuel injector. This motor has about 50 more Hp (210 HP)then the stock 3.4 (160 HP)and weighs less. With the added HP and better flowing heads this should push me into the 11's with ease. Some more tuning and tweeks are still needed but so far the car runs awesome. Here's some pics of the swap.
Here's some pics at my first attempt at building headers and motor mounts.
This is a piece I bought so I could still use the stock ecm.The internal crankshaft sensor wheel is different on the 3500 engine from the 3.4 so this external set up was used.
Does it still have that V6 sound at High RPMS?? You know what I am talking about.. Loved the way my 98 firebird sounded till about 3000 RPMS then it sounded like crap..

Sounds pretty much like a stock v6 until about 3500 RPMS then the boost kicks in and my exhaust cutout opens which makes it sound like a jet taking off.
very nice - glad to see your still at it. major props
