Because taking 3 ½ minutes for the turbo(s) to spool up is awesome.

cummins != dodge, just a sad twist of fate that an awesome diesel comes in such a crappy truck.

If you include dual CB radio antennas and a driver shorter than 5' 9", you just described every diesel truck in Hunterdon county.

I miss the days before this. Before everyone with an exhaust and a tune thinks they have a 12 second truck. Before all the posers came in listening to country and have stacks on their trucks and confederate flags even though they live in Elizabeth.

Sadly, that's the majority of sussex county too. Don't forget the confederate flag though!

It just kills me that I make more money than most of the kids (my age or younger) around here and my vehicles aren't as nice as theirs. Seriously, how the hell do you afford a Cummins/Powerstroke when you pump gas 25 hours a week or get paid $10 an hour?!

My freaking insurance on something newer than either of my vehicles would rail me. I already pay $165ish a month for just my 94 Z28 with a perfectly clean driving record (guess it's cause I have zero credit history?).

If you tack on a **** ton of miles, most diesel trucks fall to below 10k pretty fast. IE, past 200k miles

This. Come down here to Texas. 5-6k Cummins trucks (clean, but higher miles) are a dime a dozen

Okay, still. I make just shy of $18 an hour with benefits, virtually have no responsibility or bills except for car insurance and it's hit or miss if I pay my own phone bill since it's on my brother's plan and $80 is like an hour or two of work for him.

So after over time I gross $40,000 on a crappy year. I don't think I could afford payments and insurance on a vehicle totaling more than $600 combined a month.

You would be surprised at the number of people who will pay out the ass for a nice car/truck that they can't afford at the end of the day. Hint: having a brand new car/truck but having no savings at the end of the month realistically means that you can't afford it.

It makes me so damn bitter lol.

I'd love a new 5.0 mustang, C5 Vette or WS6 but I would never buy one and not put collision on it (I got quoted something insane like $5,200 a year for full coverage on my 94 Z28 --- once again, I have a CLEAN driving record (accident 4 years ago) and zero credit history; guess that's another topic as to why though).

RIF, just sayin..... "Well, there is a new diesel Mustang sheriff in town and this one is packing Cummins heat and enough snot to go deep into the 8s. Considering that there is a diesel powered funny car out there now and the flopper is in the 7.90 range, this Mustang is totally crazy."
