I always liked the Mecham (sp.) hood on 4th gens. Sorry, no picture but I'm sure you can find it. It looks a lot like the LS-1 Firehawk hood.

I bought one of those hoods awhile back from Dennis Mecham they are great design but the quality of his hoods are horrible the thing came with stress marks galor, cut corners, & a huge gash under-side I would not recommend his hoods becuase of the amount of work needed to be put into it when you get it.

I love the SLP style (Firehawk) hood. Looks very clean IMO, and it's just a bit more subtle than the WS6 hood. I think they flow a lot better without the separation in the nostrils.....

i voted for the ws.6 hood, but now that GrandmasterCow mentions it, the ws6 hood with the heat extractors looks awesome! 8)

I was also wondering if a WS6 lower air box would fit under the SLP hood...I want one since it has a bigger opening to let air in then the stock one does... cept its higher of course

Yup, they used the same box in the WS6 cars as they did the Firehawks....

If Mecham hoods werent such crap quality, I would defenitly go with on of theirs.
My next choice would be the SLP HO hood, I really like it alot, I think the WS9 hood is played out, and basically looks the same. Another one no one has mentioned is the Raptor hood, thats a hottie too.

Isn't that just another variation of the SLP/Firehawk hood?

The Raptor -
Firehawk -
I think their the same, looks like the Raptor can be had with or w/o the air extractor vents.

the raptor hood is the WS6 hood without the split in the middle. The Firehawk hood has a smaller "cowl" so to speak.

Leave the stock hood. I was going to do the same thing, but the cost of the hood, plus paint, etc etc, I am able to do more with the stock hood. And the taller airbox fits. Already measured.
look how nice....

...and my underhood mirrors haven't even been installed yet.
Then again, I guess I'm just partial. hehe
