I don't like not having a spare.

Will the spare tire from an LS car fit a LS/LT 5th gen?
No Brembos, so no concern there.

Anyone know what the popular options are aside from sending a few hundred for the dealer spare package?

I have 3rd and 4th gen spares, but no time to actually try them to see how the fit and clear, plus not sure on the overall diameter being enough.

Last option would be a factory 18" steelie wheel from a 2010-2013 camaro and just toss it in the truck(and take up space)

The 5th gen bolt pattern is different than the other generations I believe, so those wont work. Maybe your CTS spare?

New Camaro is 5x120mm not 120.65mm

ah ok good to know, I was curious because Ive seen people put 5th gen wheels on 3rd gens and I never looked into exact sizes.

and my CTS-V wheels were 6 lug(gen 1 Vs), silly cadillac. I had bought a full size stock rim as my spare for that car but it did fit in the trunk well.

I'll probably wind up buying a steel 18" wheel and throwing a narrow cheap tire on it so it wont take up too much room.

Maybe you can get a gto or bmw compact spare? Both are 5 x 120 bolt patterns.

hmm, the GTO spare is def a good idea.
Just if i have a rear flat, I'd need to swap my tires around so the spare is on the front because the spare tire diameter will obviously be less than my stock 18s, but that's easy.
From what I just read the GTO spare will clear v6 brakes, so I'm good there.

Now to find one for a reasonable price....

Also, plenty of people run 5 x 120 wheels on 5 x 120.65 cars without issues. Not saying its proper, just saying its done.

Yeah, stresses the crap out of the lug. I have seen some FEA of it, it's a lot more stress than you would think.
You can have them re-drilled for the proper pattern, Phil did it with hand tools

I did it for a while without issue. Seeing that there are now people running wobble bolts and the like out there, rarely with any issue, I wouldn't worry. The only bother, really, is the vibrations from the PCD being off-center.

I bet the tolerance on my Greg Welds is more than that by a little.

Why would you even worry? Just run it on the back.

I would assume because of damage to the diff. Do the V6 cars have an LSD?

yes they do. plus traction control hates it and car will also pull.
I had issues with my '01 ss and had to run the donut on the rear. That was not fun.

Most if not all the V6 cars do not have LSD. Lord knows I looked at enough of them when looking for a 5th gen diff for my G8. If you are concerned about height change the tire. There are many options out there to put a taller tire on the GTO spare.

you are mostly correct there. I did originally research a 1LS which was 6spd and those DO supposedly come with limited slip, but I ended up getting an auto which did not come with it standard.
However it will easily spin both tires off the line, lol.
