No, quick relates to ET....Fast relates to MPH.

Any performance mods to the engine? What about the rest of the car? What gears does it have, what suspension mods?

If the 305 is relatively stock, and you don't have much in the way of gear or suspension you prolly have a mid-low 15 second warrior in your hands.

There are several suspension modifications that you can do to make your car hook better at the track. Things like better Lower Contral Arms (LCAs), a better torque arm, and better bushings can all help avoid wheelspin when you launch the car. This will in turn make your run faster, since you can put more power to the ground without spinning.

I say boon is right, lightly modded 305 TPI will prolly be good enough to sneak into the 14s.

Yep. My H/C 305 should turn mid-low 14s in a car that can hook. I granny-shifted to a 15.0 at 90 mph on a 2.3 second 60' (17" street tires and lowering springs do not like to launch well) with my Monte. This was on a 90*, humid-ass day at the end of August '04. Since then, I have !cat and gotten a tune. Good luck on your quest man!
