Decent towns in Ft Dix area?

Whoever read my post in the lounge knows I'm moving up there in June. Been searching online for nice apartments and I've been looking aorund Burlington and Mt Holly areas. Are those good areas? Also, I don't mind having a 30 minute or so drive to work, but I don't know how the traffic will be and if I should look closer to Dix. But I will not live in the ghetto lol. Thanks for any help!

Those areas arent bad, and it really depends on how much you are looking to spend. I live about 10 mins from Fort Dix/Mcguire in Bordentown and you can find some nice apartments here. Traffic to Dix wouldnt be too bad since you can virtually take my road (545) all the way out or take 206 to 68 and its a really easy drive.

Yeah its a great area up there! The nice thing is you can have the best of all worlds. Minutes from nothing but farm lands, while at the same time not being too far from civilization, and about 40 mins from the beach.

i've never been to katmandu, but i've always wanted to go there. I have a 2001 Camaro SS in sunset orange metallic and a lifted white 05 chevy silverado with black wheels, if you've ever seen those around. Good luck on the SS search, but the last year for the camaro was 2002. What days do you usually go to katmandu?

Putting my 2 cents in on the area I lived at all my life. Well, except for now, but I'm moving back in May to Jobstown(Fort Dix is basically in my front yard). I would say go for Bordentown. Easy drive. Hamilton's nice, but can be bad with traffic in the morning depending on where you live. A LOT of base people seem to live out in Mt. Laurel and Mapleshade area because they like that it's closer to Philly(Philadelphia). It's a beautiful area, a little more expensive, but also a lot more to do in the area, and in Philly. It's a straight ride on Rte. 38, but be prepared for bad traffic and lots of red lights. But its also a great road at certain hours for racing as long as you watch the cops, so it can be fun. So back to Bordentown, good singles scene there and in hamilton/trenton area which is just up the road. Nothing is better then Katmandu on a Thursday night. Savoys is great on a Wednesday night with their drink specials, but everyone knows each other. Chickie and Pete's is new, and a great chill out bar. Rumor has it from workers I use to know that they are planning on adding another bar. When it comes to summer, except for wednesay and thursday nights, everyones at the shore. Which if you choose Bordentown or Hamilton, you can hop on 195 and head right to Belmar and be there in 30 minutes if you drive like me. Just be prepared to hang out with Benny's, which you'll learn what that is soon enough. AHhh, now I'm ranting. Hopefully only central Jersey reads this = )

And by the way...you say "I'll be needing a NEW girlfriend". Makes me believe you already have a girlfriend. SHADY

The girl I've been seeing lives in S.C., I live in N.C.. She is a great woman, but I am just not "in love". Because of the distance, seeing each other is already an issue. But I've been working it because she is a damn good woman, and I have never cheated or lied to her because I'm not like that. I think she pretty much knows that the future is limited now and that she will not be going up north. I just need to figure how to break it all down to make it final. But because I will be looking out for a new girl I don't feel that makes me a shady guy. I will never claim to be a saint, but I do have a few morals about me. Actually, I've been screwed over 10x worse by women in ways that I would never do myself.

Distance is the worst! I completely understand. That sounds like a tough situation you are in, good luck. Honestly, I do think guys get screwed over more then women these days. In my experience, guys are just pretty much right to the point in what they want and are looking for, and you either go for it, or turn the other way. I've been screwed over, but I've put myself in those positions. Girls are the shady ones. I admit it! I take back calling you a shady guy = )
