central nj trans shop

Can anyone recommend a good central Nj transmission shop? I live in Hillsborough so im looking for something as close as possible. I've taken it to hills borough trans before, but i'd like some personal recommendations.

My 3rd and 4th gear are slipping in my 4l60e and i'd like to get them replaced. Any idea on price for parts and labor?

pm me, I'll give you my boys #. he's a builder for ##mco been building for quite a few years and was taught by who I personally think was the best.

if your willing to pull it and give him it as a bench job I can get you a real good deal.

You will need your clutch packs and bends replaced and maybe steels if they are bad, no shop will just do 3rd and 4th gear clutch packs i.e. transmission rebuild.

I would buy a replacement before having mine rebuilt. You can get a built trans with a warranty and good case for around the same price a shop will charge for parts and labor on a rebuild.

I was quoted around 1400 to have mine done in my old 94 Z28.

damn, i was just going to ask how much to do 3-4 clutch packs. So because these two gears are slipping i have to get my entire tranny replaced/ rebuilt. That sounds a bit excessive.

I like the idea of buying a replacement but im in no position to swap a tranny out.

P.s this is my 3rd tranny, both have been built. but it is out of warranty now.

I can get you a trans from Performabuilt or a Finish Line Transmissions and install it for you. PM me and we could talk about it.
