4l60e converter brand

Who makes a good converter? In my current setup im running a performabuilt 3600 stall converter. I plan on dropping my motor out to redo the rear main and put a ported intake on my motor (money pending maybe a 383 stroker). The reason i asked is i bought the converter before my car was together, thus i guessed on hp and such. Any input would be great.

I had great luck with my Circle D, aside from them sending me a LS1/LT1 frankenstein verter at first.

Cut 1.5X on it, and for a 4000 'verter it drove great around town. I think between the JSFBOA fools we have had all the major brands ...

Everyone I've talked with love their Circle D. Ron can't say too many good things about them!

Jake said to stay away from em, there is a thread on tech about the mishap he was referring too.

I went with an FTI for my new trans

Do you want a tighter, more streetable converter or a looser, more drag oriented verter? I had a yank ss 3600 at first and it drove damn near stock, loved it. I think I went low 1.6's with it but I was having trans issues. I now have a yank pt4000 and it drives looser than the ss but still tolerable. Its fun around town and whatnot but eats up rpm if you are over part throttle cruising so the car uses fuel noticeably quicker. I was having trans issues again at the strip so I can't really comment on it there.

Feels alittle loose i guess takes alittle throttle to get it to go. I sent circle d a message on price and what they thinks best. Anybody have extra intake laying around?

I have a PI vigilante stall rated at 4000 but flashes to 4200ish. It performs decent at the track, but very loose for street driving. It takes about 2500 rpm to move with normal traffic off a light, and about 3200 part throttle to pull away from everyone. Anything over 3500 and you're moving like a bat outa hell.
