South Meet Locations - We want your thoughts.
Ok everyone, we are looking to spread out to new places. Given the South meet in June is next, and that a lot of us are not very familiar with the area, we decided to start there. We had a good thread in the South forum about places to go, and this is the basic results. They also came up with the idea of a road trip type meet – a cheesesteak run. We will discuss that separately.
I included some info about each place, including maps and websites (where applicable). If this works out, we will try the same exercise for the other areas. Feel free to vote for any or all places you might want us to have a meet. We are trying to solidify some ideas for the future, be it next month, next year or beyond.
We have to note that we will give the locations with the highest vote totals primary consideration but this does not guarantee that we will go the #1 vote-getter for the next meet, or even ever. Circumstances such as restaurant participation (owner won’t save us parking, etc) or travel issues (not fighting summer/holiday traffic for a summer meet at the shore, etc.) will always play a part in our planning.
Possible locations:

Even though the place is a stones throw away from my house, I hope we don't end up going to Nifty-Fifties. The food there is horrible, it is super small, and its pretty much a diner. I voted for Chickie's & Pete's, but I would even be happy just going back to Texas Road House, atleast they have good food and a lot of space for us.

Chickie's & Pete's has gotta be even closer to you than Nifty Fifties. Your in AC right?
Either way... Im voting for Chickie's & Pete's simply for the fries. Although I could go for a Nifty Fifties milkshake too. haha

Sonic, simply because it's the only one I'd be able to go to.

Um, the next sentence.
Circumstances such as restaurant participation (owner won’t save us parking, etc) or travel issues (not fighting summer/holiday traffic for a summer meet at the shore, etc.) will always play a part in our planning.
Plus we are looking to build a list of places for future reference. This is not just the next meet. I thought that was pretty clear. Sorry if it was not.

lol no it was pretty clear, but parking was always fine at the roadhouse, and they love us. especially when 20+ cars or 20+ people turn out

Where do you think we should go?- a. Texas Roadhouse in Millville
b. Bennigans in Mt. Laurel
c. Adelphia's Restaurant in Deptford
d. Sonic in Waretown
e. Applebee's in Hammonton
f. Outback in Deptford (you are kidding, right?)
g. Chickie's & Pete's in Egg Harbor Twp
h. Nifty-Fifties in Turnersville
|
i. Frankie's Pizza and Italian Resturant, Route 9, Bayville - his parking lot is just big enough to accomodate 20 or so cars, but we could always take over the deli's parking lot, too (right next door) or the Ace Hardware store across the street or the Haddonfield Lumber parking lot, and there's even an Advanced Auto nearby. it's all within quick walking distance, and i do mean quick. there is always the foooodtown parking lot with a small spattering of smallish returants, but still within walking distance to Frankie's. Then there's the Shoprite parking lot, with another spattering of smallish resturants and fast food (Mickey D's, Wendy's, etc).
j. route 37, Toms River - pick a place, any place. Fuddrucker's (or whatever it's' being called this week), the Crystal Diner, the Toms River Diner, Mr. Breakfast (serves lunch too), Stewart's Drive-in, I-hop, Perkim's, etc. Don't forget about the ocean county mall with it's myriad of fast food places, plus an Applebee's.
k. manahawkin and LBI (think beach!) - name it, it's there on route 72 on the way to LBI. bad part? one way in, one way out. traffic is a motherlover.
l. south jersey - i mean, south new jersey, like rio grande or cape may. it don't get much more south than that. most people don't know or haven't been (in a while) to remember what it's like, but it's beautiful. hardly what you think of when you think new jersey.
