needs a little work but this was what i was looking for, a beater and have something i could toss stuff in and go

yeah i was definetly gonna load it up with some weight, what kind of tires do you guys suggest? i don't want all out snow tires because it will obviously be driven when there is now snow. a good all season tire?

and thanks i was creeping on craigslist for the past few months like a psycho ex on facebook. there are a lot of them for sale but my requirement for an extended cab ruled many out, there were many nice ones though.

Get a nice all terrain tire like the BFG All Terrains or the General Grabber AT2s. Both perform great in the snow (considering they aren't snow tires).

General grabbers won't do all that great in the snow and due to the semi soft compound wont last long... if your looking for something that looks more aggressive then the bfg AT. Try MT ATZ or Pro comp extreme AT

Also you might consider something like the Cooper A/T3s or the Mastercraft A/T2s. The A/T3s are new but look promising, and I know a few people (including my brother) with the A/T2s and all have no complaints. My brother has them on his '05 Ram 3500 and the wear has been great, no issues with them in any weather (except mud....dirt roads and sand have been fine though).

I had a mini-class on Friday about how horrible General tires are, and we dabbled in Conti too.

Cooper AT3's look good. We are starting to stock more, look like a good tire. Cannot go wrong with BFG A/T's. 40 years, never changed, still the bench mark.

I have Toyo AT's on my 2500HD. They did well in the snow and dirt roads.
