chasis electical issue

I have a 1991z28,and right near the battery there is the red plug that follows to the stater, well the wire connected with it at the fussible link is another wire that should lead to the battery I think and be hooked up to it that wire is orange...any suggestions....on the engine wire diagram all orange wires are hot.sooo I think I should give it 12 volts from the battery and be brave about it...but I would like to be sure..If anybody has a 1990 through 1992 and can email me a pic of those wires and tell me especially where that goes much appreciated.
