wondering what i should do here

ok i have a guy here looking to get rid of an 94 lt1 trans am for a 3.8 camaro or firebird. hes already has a ls1 so he just wants something better on gas and a dd. i have a 96 camaro 5 speed that still runs and drives but has high mileage. i just rolled over to 190,000. the lt 1 does have less mileage but its not currently running it needs an optispark and it needs interior work but the body is strait what do you guys think i have a few pix

i say trade him, cleaned up in nice shape worth more than your v6. after you complete the clean up. sell it and buy a LS1 car.

hmm. The real question is if the opti is the only problem. But hell i say get a opti off ebay like 70$ spend 250-300 for decent interior than flip it for 3500.

That interior looks like it had the "bag of angry weasels" mod. I would stick with the car you know. I would have a hard time trading for a car that doesn't run or runs poorly and trusting the previous owner's diagnosis. It looks like it wasn't cared for across the board- not just in the interior.

why do you want to trade a known and running POS for an unknown, non-running POS?

refreshen up the V6 and go from there. that interior is ripped, and IMO shows you how much they cared for the car, which is why I'd be weary of the motor. you don't know if it's just the opti. a V8 would be nice, but I'm sure you could clean your car up, sell it for some small change, and if you shop around, you might be able to find something cheap in better condition.

Just to give you an idea we bought our 95 Firehawk with 69,000 miles on it for 4500.00 back in august. The car is in great shape interior wise and in really good shape exterior wise. I wouldnt spend more then 1000.00 for that beat up T/A..

Bad deal don't do it, that car looks beat up. 150k isn't exactlly low mileage. I would rather have the nicer, running car and looks like he has the same idea. Stick with what you've got
