Installed my Lingenfelter Air Intake

After It just sitting in the box for the past month I finally decided to get my ass out in the cold and put it on. Took me a little while cause the intake would not sit down into the filter, but after a few I got it. I was actually a little doubtful it would give any "SOTP" difference, but i must say it did. I was surprised at how much stronger it pulls.

P.S. I have a question to ask you guys. The filter sits down in the fender well in that area below the headlights, I have a tiny bit of water in there, question a) is that normal? and question b) ya think it will hurt anything?
It is a very minimum amount of water that just splashed up today when i went through a puddle by accident.

as long as the filter doesnt get submerged it should be ok, you might want to see if you can find a way to deflect the water so it doesnt splash up onto it though.

yeah the only problem is that the only place that air gets into the box down there is the way the water gets in. I dunno I may have to get creative if this keeps up, but Ill look again next weekend.

That valve is pretty cool, although I'd never buy it.
Don't worry about water getting into the filter/engine. Just don't submerge the filter and it should be fine. K&N sells a pre-filter that would work really well at keeping the filter dry from splashed water.

I am already thuroughly impressed and would reccomend it. Real nice system, and made a nice improvement even though i was really skeptical of the gains I would see/feel.

yeah now its like 160...not bad really...well -known company, less that moroso(190), SLP(210), and K&N(200+)...plus after seeing what they can do with gm car's(ie- twin-turbo vette), i'd trust them

for one thing...lingenfelter is about $50 cheaper that SLP...so thats a plus...also i know that they put the lingenfelter on a bone stock 95 z28 and it produced a 12 hp increase...not sure about how much the SLP imporves...but i like lingenfelter because of the work they do on induction systems of cars...

foff-ok thanks i will send him a message soon after i get my current mods all on the car.

I dont know about the SLP, however I had decided against it once i saw that it was metal. I truthfully didnt know if the heat on the metal would play against it or not. Besides, the Lingenfelter is alot cheaper, and does the same thing...
The SLP looks better, but I dont know their performance gains. I saw the metal tubing and figured that could possibly kill the effect i am going for...COLD air going through metal tubing in a HOT engine bay...

When I went to their website, their plastic box looks similar to the Moroso CAI.

All the cold air intakes are very close to the same in terms of the extra power they free up. Your basicly buyin the CAI whose name you like the most, if i knew about the Ling. when i baught my K&N, i would have due to the price.
