coolest build I've seen in a while, finally on the road
my friend started this project about a year ago, you probably wouldn't expect much from this coming down the road:
...until you heard this rev up:
...and found out that it was all wheel drive:
...and actually a subaru wrx hidden under a 1986 Nissan pickup body:
the only thing you can liken the ride to is a go kart, it MOVES. eventually it'll have a bed cover, fresh paint job, nice wheels, and a nicer set of seats but even as it sits it's just plain cool

Wow....that's pretty cool. Did the wheelbase on both line up well, or did he have to cut the truck up pretty good for that to match. At a glance the body doesn't look molested besides the floor / wheelwells in the bed.
Any engine / driveline mods, or stock for now?

they're cool little trucks Hahaha
he actually sold the Nissan frame, he made his own from scratch and dropped the bed and cab on top, he had to take a few inches out of the bed but it's not very noticeable. he rebuilt the engine himself and kept everything stock for now just to get it together and on the road reliably

That thing is sick, I love it! Sleepers FTW. Plus, he can put QQ plates on it and not even have to worry about inspection. Are all the suspension parts Subie pieces bolted onto his custom frame?

That's pretty badass, I've always wanted to put a Subie setup under another, lighter, car.

yep! I think he might just get it inspected regularly so he can put a lot of miles on it, it's going to be a driver

Too easy. This looks to be a complete overhaul. Also, where we live, awd is pretty important for a daily. Windy and hilly roads are no fun. Given the choice, I'd actually have the Subie drivetrain too for a daily. But for something nuts, nothing is like a V8.

Never in my life would I have thought of this. Being the truth this is creative plus the sound of a boxer engine and AWD is just a great combo .
