trans blew on my 88 gmc

i was driveing my truck to work the trans started to slip prety bad i got to a auto parts store bought 2 quarts of trans fluid just to try to make it home from the other side of town i made it home going 10 mph i have a trans out of a 86 iroc z that was rebuilt by the previous owner do you think it will work on my truck do you think i can get the transpher case to bolt right up my truck is a 88 gmc 1500 4x4

The 4x4 and 2wd transmissions are different.. At the very least you would have to swap the output shafts which requires complete dissassembly of the transmissions..
