Dyno tunes are over-rated.

No, Bill prefers street and track tuning over dyno tuning. A dyno sheet doesn't mean anything if your car is still slow at the track, or has issues with streetability because the tuner never actually drove your car besides to put it on the dyno.

Besides, you can get your install finished up, get Bill to tune it, and pay for a spot at our upcoming Dyno Day at TTP, and still most likely save money over what a normal shop will charge you for a dyno tune.

"real world tune"
part of the reason bill got into tuning was a bad experience after his heads/cam install. his car made decent numbers on the dyno but didnt run very well at the track or on the street from what i hear.

as soon as my trailblazer is delivered he will be tuning BOTH of my vehicles im that confident in the work hes done on the trans am and on other members vehicles.

post some pics of those dart heads :D did you get dual springs or stick with the singles they come with? Also did you upgrade anything else ie injectors, PR's, oil pump while you were at it?

Unfortunatly Im booked for full tunes until April 1st since I only do full tuning on weekends now. But I will strongly recommend you at least get a base tune in the car...i think those svo injectors are actually rated for like 38lb in ls1's meaning if the stock injector tables are in there the o2's/maf are going to have a hard time compensating for that large of a change without your base injector flow rate tables setup correctly...not to mention then size of your cam which in itself will require at least a minimal amount of tuning more then likely. If theres anything I can do for you let me know & I'll see what we can try to work out.

Thanks
Bill

so my pv clearence is none. valve just hits the piston :( now i am at a loss.... either go smaller cam which i dotn really want to, etp 215 heads and wait 6 weeks, or send the heads back and get the valve sunk.... the most he can do is .040 thats not alot a clearence :-\ i hate cars

Sorry to hear man. I don't know enough about your setup of LSx motors to make a suggestion, but I hope whatever you choose to do works out for the best.

MS3 which is 237/242 ~600/600 so a big cam....I would say just go with a slightly smaller cam but thats me and see if tsp will throw in something else for having you with a ****ed up combo lol

Looking good! It must have been a pain in the ass though, with the way the engine is set so damn far back. I know some places will just lift the car off the engine.

It's not easy, but we did Bill's head and cam swap in his driveway in just a few afternoons. The rear head bolts (well, all the head bolts really) were a pain.

yeah it really is a complete pita especially with the engine in the car...we got it done but it was alot of work. Unbolting & then tqing down the head bolts was the most difficult/backbreaking part of it imo...but once you button everything up and fire it up for the first time theirs no feeling like it knowing you did it yourself :D

its not as bad as i expected... as long as you take your time things go great! untill tsp screw you :( i think i am goin to go torqer 2...232/234, .595"/.598". i hope it clears. Or i would fly cut too but i dotn no anyone who can do it in nj.

i am useing stock rockers :)

why not just fly cut the pistons now....

its a matter of finding a place that will rent them & a dummy set of heads to you.

i was thinking more along the lines of the 233/239 cam...that sux you'll have to go with that one :( my old cam was bigger then that. Oh well, good luck.
