Not sure if this would go here or not, if it doesnt im sorry but im having a real prroblem. my 91 has a miss, a bad miss, i had a TB spacer on there, that was cracked, removed it, thought the reluctor was cracked in the distributor, changed it, wires? changed them, plugs are new, found one plug where the porcelain was cracked, so what did i do? changed it. still misses, someone please help me...this is really pissing me off, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance guys :mad:

you need to go buy a new car my friend
chances are, the cylinder with the cracked plug is the problem cylinder. you might want to try a compression test and a leak down test to see if you have a stuck valve, broken valve spring, cracked head or a hole in the piston. good luck with it. any more questions, dont hesitate to ask :)

those things could cause a miss at idle? i hope its not a problem like that, but i will check it out.
it could be something like your fuel injectors (those egg looking things on top of your TB).

Sounds like a vacuum leak (ie. bad intake gasket)... Try spraying some carb cleaner along the intake where it meets the head, if the idle changes when you get to a particular cylender you have an intake gasket that failed or you cracked the intake. It can also leak internally. you could diagnose this by pulling the pcv, plugging the fresh air hole and any others you may have in the valve covers and checking for any vacuum pull at the pcv hole.

the injectors are good, that i know..i will check the other things tomorrow though, thanks guys

well $100 later i still have a miss, but my MSD wires look good with my new plugs...but i think its a stickin vavle...

if you pull one plug wire off at a time ( it will bite you if you dont loosen them the ( wires ) up first and have rubber handle plires to use ) their will be a difference in the way the car idles with all the cylinders that are running with ( out ) any problems than a simple compression test --- if you dont have that another way if you have compressed air is with some one helping blow in the plug hole after finding what cylinder is your problem with air, of course with dist cap off align the rotor with the location of the bad cylinder and listen at the tail pipe first see if you can hear air coming out than try the intake dfi carb what ever if one is making an air noize you have a bad valve a sticky lifter will almost always click and clack when missing and lastly a vacume gague conected to the intake look at the gague if the dial is swinging wildly back and forth or the number is very low need more info best i can do with what you have explained jz

well, im putting different heads on it and see if it fixes the problem, if not at least i will have performance heads lol, but i think it will fix the problem, i may try your technique and see what happens, thanks

you could try runnin some seafoam in the oil and see if it cleans it out and frees it all up, or auto-rx
