Ugg. Sorry, but if you need a job ASAP, and have been without work for 8 months, you can spare your pride and work for one of those places until something better comes along. It's not the end of the world. It's money that you don't have right now, and as soon as a better job comes along, you can quit and not need to give them as a reference.

I get annoyed when people say that places are "beneath them." If you need work, you need work, nothing wrong with that. It's only temporary, so why is it such a big deal?

Right now, take what you can get to survive. Itll only be short term to get things rolling again, to have some kind of income. youll only be there until you find a better paying job.

i started a few years ago (2002) making 8.50/hr in construction. it was a totally ****** company that i started with..
in between 2002-2004 i worked with different companies, making a lil more

2004- got into the carpenters union local 121 vineland nj 12.89/hr as an apprentice. present time 2006 23.22/hr and climbing, and it only gets better from there. apprenticeship runs 4 years so in 2008 i will be making Journeymen's rate, which i wont even say because it will disgust everyone

I'm working on getting my younger brother in now :)

stay away from fedex...as far as working in the docks (loading/unloading trucks) The good job would be either a driver or a drivers helper. I worked for Fedex in Moonachie for a little less than a year and the only reason I was there that long was because I needed money
