I think motor mounts are all you're gonna need. congrats to your girl for getting a cool car, now make her sign up here

*edit*

you're gonna need the harness and PCM from the V8 car too, but other than that, I think its pretty much a bolt up and go affair.

You will need new front springs, probably new rear springs and shocks and struts, the harness and PCM out of a 305 car with the same trans you are using, motor mounts possibly a new radiator (pretty sure they were all the same but check). Are you looking to go Carb, TBI or TPI? Do you have the intake manifold already? If you are using a MAF TPI system you will need MAF, air box, intake tubing. New front fuel lines. I'm 99% sure the front accessory drive are going to be pretty different also so if you don't have them for a V8 you will need those or at least the brackets. Might need a different alternator depending on the amperage of your V6 one. Does the V6 have electric fans? If not you should get those for a serpentine drive V8 or get the older pulleys and brackets and go with the multi belt accessory drive.. That might be about it but I am sure I am missing something. My advice would be if you can make it pass emissions in NJ pull the fuel injection and get a Carb'd V8.

if she just wants a little more pep from the 3.1 i would look into some roller rockers. comp cams makes increased ratio rockers for all the 60* motors. with a few other minor adjustments it would certainly give enough power to have some fun smokin the tires and it is a heck of a lot easier/cheaper than an engine swap.
if thats not enough power, spray it. those motors are known for staying together forever. lol

Yea, a set of 1.6 roller rockers for that car are about $120, and they do stay together forever. I have a 3.1 in my Lumina and it's got 196,xxx miles on it....and I'm not gentle with it :)
