I believe the judge lost a son to Speeding... at his own fault...

he lectured every speeder under the age of 25 in there..

got points reduced from 7-4

dismissed careless driving. reduced speeding offense

court ordered driving school

reduction of 3 points upon completion

after all is said and done

i will have 1 point from this offense, and it will be thirty days later

i'll have 3 points all together, i ran a stop sign once near my own town, and just paid it.

i feel for ya, dude. until i hit my 30s, i had all kinds of points following me from an incident when i was 17. the point reduction system never worked for me because i kept getting suspended for too many points. i'd get a reduction and then get a speeding ticket and be suspended again. i finally got my stuff together and stopped driving like a loon and zero points on my license now. it took a long time to get it down to nothing.

you need to see what happens to a car that hits a pole sideways at only 60 mph, at 150 in a camaro your history.but nevermind about yourself what if a kid got in your way on a bike or someone doesnt see you comeing and pulled out in front of you.my cousin can tell ya life in a wheelchair sucks. So just be carefull and dont get hurt on the hiways, if you want to race go to the track.stick around man, life is short and we dont want to lose any camaro friends!!

going to fast is going too fast no matter what you are in. arrogance about the abilities of car or driver is no replacement for not driving safely.

you have no control over road conditions, other drivers, pedestrians, or whatever forest creature may decide the grass in greener on the other side of the street. until you can hold some mystical effect on all these factors to prevent an accident you can only control the vehicle you are driving.

look... idk where you guys live....

but i have an idea...

where i was.. is a NORMAL neighborhood for you...

but i live in an NJ suburb of NYC, so when i'm driving home from The Chatterbox...

in what I consider (and i mean no offense by this) west bumble****..

If I punch it.. for 5 seconds... on a country highway with sunny dry and light traffic conditions... and hit a peak of 98. (which i have proof i did not go 98... i went 89.. i got it reduced to 84 anyway, so im not gonna complain... but lets say i did)

the only thing that is going to kill me... is a Deer... and quite frankly.. when you are surrounded by GRASSY KNOLLS.. and not forests or jungles.. even that is unlikely. in any such event, i can avoid it. 4 disk anti lock... suspension tuning... etc

and by the way...

arrogance is the wrong word.. you meant ignorance... but its all based on your own opinion.

i wasnt going 140, in fact i've never gone that fast.. and i don't speed home... cop was in the right place at the right time, i punched in the wrong place at the wrong time..

unfortunately, there is nothing you guys are gonna say thats gonna change my mind... so please save the flaming

if i'm in nevada... and im heading out of LV on a long highway.. im gonna want to punch it... thats that

i know guys who take it to the next level.. they'll be renting a viper or a lambo.. and they'll hit those roads at 160

don't worry, i won't take any of you with me when i kill myself driving "too fast"... i wasn't speeding on main street..

I used to be all about the speeding and madman driving. Totaled my first car a month after getting my lisc, had 30+ points racked up b4 I was 20, thought I could be smart and get a Va lisc while I was in the Air Force so I could avoid the long arm of NJ...etc etc etc. My last "speed binge" was in the 1996-1998 era, when I was driving a Procharged 94 TA. Lost my lisc more than I had it, and got busted twice for driving on the revoked list. I discovered what it was like to be on a train if I wanted to get any where. I finally wised up, and got myself to prit near 0 points. The last ticket I got was a week after 9-11 happened, and I was in such a daze it really didn't occur to me that I was doing 45 in a 35. Oh well. Now I'm almost a complete opposite. I'm working on max mileage w/ the Cavalier, so I do the limit or maybe even less. I stay in the slow lane, and curse at the azzclowns driving like idiots in the other lanes. But I do have my hypocritical side...I get jazzed when I see a performance car getting it on down the highway. When I drive my AMX I basically just cruise, and if I ever get my T-Type on the road I prolly won't do much nasty street driving with it either. Eventually I'm gonna turn that AMX into as close to a 200 MPH street car as possible, but will prolly just try to truck down to the Maxton mile so I can hit those speeds legally and w/o any bystanders getting hurt if something goes wrong. I'm not gonna preach to anyone about what they do on the road, 'cause I've been max dirty myself. But I hope that maybe someone can learn from my mistakes, and say "Dayum, I don't wanna be there," and wise up on the road.

I think it's a combination of ignorance and arrogance. Your 4 wheel disc brakes, suspension tuning, etc. won't do you any good if a small animal jumps out(and they do all the time, trust me) or if a tire blows out. You might think you can control your car, but in an emergency situation you won't be able too and we'll find you wrapped around a telephone pole. Ask the 2 morons that did that on my 35 mph road at 70 mph. Don't be arrogant and overconfident, it will get you hurt. Just keep it safe and sane, that's all.

I can't really speak for everyone else, but I certainly do not mean to be judgmental or to come down on you to guilt you into conforming to my expectations. Nothing like that at all. I'd be the biggest hypocrite ever if I did.

Like UBG, I've had my share of "glory days" beating the stuffing out of my cars, and, for long stretches, spending more time without a license than with one (although, driving the whole time - equally stupid).

Also, like UBG, I got to a point where I realized how completely moronic I was acting, and how I had chosen one of most ridiculous reasons to spend my days "in trouble with the law." Fortunately for me, I managed to come to that realization before I killed myself or someone else.

I think (and now I will speak for the board - speculatively anyways) that everyone here is being so hard on you because some of us know what could happen - even on an empty country road - and we don't want to be using pictures of your car to try to keep someone else from hitting a pole and scattering themselves all over some farmland somewhere.

You're right. It's ignorance we're talking about. Ignorance in the true sense of a lack of knowledge, understanding, or appreciation about something. The point here, I think, is that you don't seem to fully appreciate the risks. If you do, and you undervalue your life or health so much that you are fine with taking those risks, than have at it. By all means.

I don't think we're all so worried that you might take us with you. We're afraid that it would just get too damn depressing around here if you - or any of us - f**ked themselves up just to see if they could hit 130 on the parkway. IMHO, that's just stupid.

lay off of him guys, people don't learn from others peoples mistakes, they learn from their own. If someone wants to crash at 100mph or more, let them learn their way. Let's just hope they don't take out anyone else, and if they do they will have a substantial amount of time to think about in a nice state sponsored room with 24/7 care.

Most people here love to drive fast and we all learned on our own, so don't take his chance away  After crashing my car at 100mph or so, and having run in with the police, i keep it down to 80-95mph range and it's all good, I learned

And about the drag strip. Unfortunately, I'm always pressed for money, whether that be for my insurance bill, gas, college (which i now won't be able to enroll in), or to go to the drag strip and race or anything extracurricular. I don't like pushing my car strictly based on the fact that I'll have to buy more gas. So it is rare I even give myself the ok to pump the pedal.

At 30 dollars a day at the strip. Rental fees for a helmet (or the purchase of one). And repairs for my car if anything happens as a result from trying to compete.

I just can't work with.

2 months ago, I sold my xbox 360 and 4 games, just to pay an insurance bill, and I have a feeling it'll cost a lot more than that trade next month. I'm running out of things to sell. See where I'm going with this? The car is next. Maybe I'll be on NJVespaScooterOA.org in a few months. IDK lol

Lost My License
08-18-2007, 12:11 AM
I am the king of points, and living proof that the point system does work, Would of lost my license by the age of 19 but thankfully my father has deep pockets and knows the 'right' people. I am since the beginning of this month down to zero points (now 22). It was hard and brutal to get back to no points and thank god for some PBA cards to help me through it. I agree with Tsar in the fact that any man or women if they want should be able to drive his or her car however they choose as long as it puts no other person in danger. Still today in my TA or on my motorcycle and yes even sometimes in my daily driver (VW Rabbit (haha I know)) I get what I call retarded. But there is always "a time and place" as my motorcycle friends and I constantly say to each other, to stay alive, to keep others alive and to keep our sanity on the roads. And if your caught, don't complain about, you did it, you knew the consequences of doing it and you should pay for it.

why the hell would your family members be walking across the highway part of Route 15?

oh and...

you meant ignorance

Definition of arrogance:
noun: overbearing pride evidenced by a superior manner toward inferiors
Definition of ignorance:
noun: the lack of knowledge or education

Apparently.. according to most in this thread..."I DON'T KNOW BETTER - I HAVE YET TO MAKE MISTAKES AND LEARN FROM THEM"

Not once did i say "all you tools don't know how to drive, and if you were me you'd understand why i was driving this way because im better driver than all of you"

In fact, I believe if we made the speed limit 98.. and everyone was going 98... there would be a number of fatalities.. EQUAL to the amount of fatalities we have now

So, you tell yourself.. do you agree or disagree? Do you think I'm ignorant because of that belief..?

No, friend, I am not arrogant. Atleast Not as a driver.

And If I have to say this one more time....

I went from 60-98 than back to 60.. ina matter of 5 seconds..

so if you truly believe that ALLLLLL THIS HORROR couldve happened in 5 seconds, and that saturn was aligned with the moon, and a deer was being drawn to some unknown force out on route 15... all in that same 5 seconds..

it is YOU... who is Ignorant

now if i was driving 98 the whole stretch... maybe i'd understand your POV

if your having money problems as well, dont drive fast, it uses more gas. i can literally watch the needle on the gauge go down when my dad drives my t/a and likes to get on it. driving only about 20 miles in one day, i used a quarter tank of gas. i told him lighten up on the pedal, or he can buy my next tank.

The problem is simply that you just never know what is around the bend, and you can't rely on a seemingly unpopulated town to have the safest roads to gun it. Sometimes, those are just the worst places to speed, especially when unsuspecting children are used to the low traffic flow.

I know my dad tells a story about one day when he much younger he was taking a rather "spirited drive" through a desolate town on a windy country road in his Jensen Healey. He came up ove a bridge and just on the other side of it were two little children sitting in the road, playing. He barely stopped in time. He knew at that moment that he very well could have killed those kids. Granted, they shouldn't have been in the road, but again, you never know. It's just better to play it safe, and not to assume that just because you're a good driver, and you're in a ghost town, that there isn't something you're gonna hit. Most kids rely on low traffic town areas for safe playing ground. Drivers on the other hand look at it as a place with fewer obstacles. See where this clashes?

Sucks you got your license suspended, but I guess it could have been worse had you not been caught, but I guess we'll never know, and then again, maybe that's a good thing.

PS. Deer at 65 MPH are not fun either. Bye bye exhaust. Remember that, Tim? Hahaha. Eww.

so when i'm driving home from The Chatterbox...

in what I consider (and i mean no offense by this) west bumble****..

As a resident of West Bumble****, no offense taken. But I can attest to the fact that we not only have deer that run onto highways, we also have coyotes, bears, raccoons, bunnies, skunks (Hit a skunk and smile...I dare ya), possums, and any number of other such wildlife. Not to mention the domestic animals, such as dogs, cats, chickens, horses and cows. Yeah. I've seen cows...not on Route 15, but they're on those 'country roads,' along with crotchety old farmers on slow-moving John Deere tractors. On 15, I've also seen a TON of motorcyclists, some of whom cruise along at the speed limit on Harleys, others who zoom in and out of traffic on crotch rockets. If driving along 15, don't bother 'punching it' or any other such automotive fun as I have never gone either direction on Route 15 and NOT seen a Sparta cop. They're always there; it's what they do.

In addition to those 'rolling hills,' there are a ton of sweeping curves and blind curves and guess what? Why, we done got the telephone AND the cable television out here, too, which means there are more than enough utility poles to slam into.

So I guess I'm ignorant, because yeah, I do honestly believe that within five seconds, the moon and stars and planets can in fact be aligned in juuuuuust the right way that one or more of these factors can screw you up. All it takes is just a tiny patch of unseen gravel on one of those sweeping turns on 15 to send you reeling. If you don't believe me, take a look around. I'm sure you'll see more than one white wooden cross on the side of Route 15, and any of the hundreds of desolate, winding, two-lane highways that tempt those of us with a bunch of horsies under the hood and a lead foot. You may be in control of your car, but you can't control what other idiots are doing behind the wheel (Or handlebars) of their vehicles, nor can you control the exact time and date a four legged friend is going to jump out in front of you (I've had my heart rate skyrocket more than once from this kind of furry surprise).

I'm not saying that what you did makes you an idiot or any other four-letter words. I'm just saying that it only takes a few seconds for things to go FUBAR. Yeah, my family is up here too, but I'm pretty good about not letting the two year-old run loose in the street, but the thirteen year-old might chase a soccer ball into the street. You just never know.

I guess my point to all of this is that you gotta be careful, no matter where you are. And like everyone else says: Stick around, man. The Chatterbox gets pretty good on a summer Saturday night; keep on coming up and being a part of it. 8-)

Dude in Sussex county, all that and more is possible
