plastic gauge guard cleaning

how would you clean it up and make the scratches less evident? i tried some flitz polish and its ok but wasn't sure if there was a trick to getting it look real good, like glass! thanks 8-)

I've used regular 3M Compound, followed by Mother's Plastic Polish. Works great on all plastic, like light lenses, smooth dash trim, etc.

is that a specific compound by 3M Steve? that polish was ok but i want to try and get the scratches a little less evident. i am going to try some more polish though, maybe let it sit longer.

I used the 3M Clearcoat Compound and a hand-held foam pad. If you're feeling brave, you could wetsand it with some 2000 grit sandpaper first, then hit it with the compound, then the polish. Try just the compound first, I think you'll be impressed. I had a lot of fine scratches on my gauge lens and also on the long black dashboard trim in the Monte, and it removed 99% of them. Good luck!
