My girlfriends eclipse has sprung a leak in the roof. No, not from the sunroof, but from a giant gaping hole at the top of the windshield where it rusted through the roof. Since the car is old, and has over 150k, i was wondering what the easiest/cheapest/most effective fix would be, so that it could once again be driven in the rain.

Try globbing 3M weatherstrip adhesive in there if you really want to just go cheap and functional

Yes, because mold is the 1st concern I have when I see rotted out structural metal! LOL

Speaking of that, perhaps it is time to scrap that POS.

Haha yeah well i've been saying the same but she tends to lean her car searches towards infiniti/bmw/mercedes etc and their way out of her price range. I've been trying to convince her of getting something American, but there really isn't anything "girly" besides the colbolt, which she hates.

You might wanna try to have a talk with her about you caring for her safety and not letting her drive around in a car that is rotting away that badly....

how would one convince a non-car girl to buy an american car from a company that's brand is in the process of being sold and the future is still somewhat uncertain? I believe I read the astra was already axed...

Money talks. I know another member who rarely posts got a steal on his...last fall I think it was? And it can only be better now.
