Hey guys,
So after my sway bar install I go to put the lug nuts back on and one of the studs threads is practically ground down to nothing. I mean this stud is smoother than my girlfriends P#$$^. anyway, I imagine i'll have to replace the stud. Can someone give me some advice on this? Better yet, has anyone ever replaced a stud on the rear axle before? I really could use some help. I'd be willing to pay someone to help me. any advice is very much appreciated.

the proper way is to remove the axle then just hit the old stud out with a hammer. they make a tool that pulls the new stud in with an impact gun. do you have a 4 channel rear though? the reluctor wheel for the abs/tcs will be in the way i think. that is pressed on iirc.

tough to say. i'm sure some of the ls guys could give you a good estimate since most of them have 4 channel rears and alot of people here have longer wheel studs. might be 1.5-2 hrs labor though.

i have. but not on a camaro. but all in all it depends on how long is the stud and how much room u have between the hub and the back of it. if u have all u do is hammer the old one off. get it out the way and put the new one through. then u need a spare lug nut that u wont put on the car an one that is way bigger then the stud. u put the big nut in between the the sud that is though the hub and the spare nut. make sur its straight . if it is just start tighting it till the studs bottoms out. loosen the nut take the spare and big nut out and ur done.

so how do you go about doing this then with the 4th channel? I heard just remove the tcs sensor in the back of the unit and the stud is able to be hammered through the hole. Has anyone done this done this before?

Yes, the relucector ring is stuck on! Do you need a press to remove this? The axle has to be removed huh?

The reluctor is pressed on, to remove it the axle must be removed and installed in a press to press the reluctor off.
