I know this is longer than 2 weeks but is there anyway we can do the 28th of this month?. I have friends who are throwing hissy fits cause I promised them I would go upstate with them this weekend, I have a booked roadtrip vacation from the 14th threw the 24th. I got work all next week and I still need to get everything ready and tested. If this doesn't work for you I understand and I will do my best for next Friday but I really want to look over the logs and make sure I am not going to blow anything up.

Josh clearly said he's not interested in talking to anyone unless you are trying to setup a race with him with your own car on the terms he mentioned.

So let me get this straight....Josh puts up a thread looking for races at the track. He has made it quite clear he only races at the track. My assumption (and if I am wrong Josh can certainly correct me) is he owns a business and so forth and is not going to risk all that on anything illegal like a dopey street race. Why not ask him to be a drug mule while he's at it? I guess when you live at home with Daddy and actually have nothing to lose it's easy to ask other people to do things like that. But I digress. Now, from what I have read, you personally stay far away from the track being it's just not for you. I assume you have a physical ailment; maybe all the lights at the track cause trouble with your eyes, like a flashing video game sometimes cause people to have seizures. If so I am sorry, that must be tough on you. So because you are presumably physically unable to race at a track, you try to line up a race with someone “in your camp”, despite the OP request for direct contact only. Are you their consigliere? Do you get a %% of the big winnings? Or is that what the real racers let you do so you feel part of the team (or is it troop?). So strike one, not your car.

I believe the tech inspectors at Island do a great job. They are inforcing NHRA and NJ state police rules not their own. If your equipment isnt up to standards than why not just build it right? It is for your own good.. As far as money we can discuss that after we go over the cars and the race is a go. $500 is usually a good starting number though.

I see nothing wrong with a walk around of the cars before a race or money is settled on. I never said I had the fastest car in the world. I said I wanted to race a street car on dot tires that fit in a stock wheel well. To conform this I think is not an odd request.

Lets put it in a boxing perspective. A world champ middle weight can walk into any gym and say he is the baddest middle weight on the property and if a heavy weight challenges him he can decline the fight with no arguements. On the other hand if he backs down from another middle weight he does not desirve to wear the belt.

The boxers have scales to determine what a fair fight is. They dont take the word of their trainers and friends.
We, as car guys have our eyes and knowledge to keep us from walking into a massacre.

To be honest if you and NK lined up I’d put money on your side… I’m just saying if he has a car that meets your description why not line them up? How about both of you meet at a WaWa 15-20 miles away from Atco or Cecil, fill your tanks up, drive to the track and go straight into the lanes to line up? I understand not wanting to agree to a race without knowing the car first but you also gotta see that NitrousKing probably doesn’t want to get his car all ready, load it up, and drive all the way down to the track just for you to say “nope!” so it kinda puts both cars in a pickle… The easiest solution would be for you to both state exactly how your cars sit, agree on a race, lock in a few bucks as a deposit, and set a date. If you or him show up with something other than what they claimed to have then the deposit gets paid to the other person.

The $2,000+ payout that is possible with 1 race should be well worth your time to clear your schedule for a night at the track. I imagine you routinely pay $200+ to enter Index races that require a lot more work to win a smaller payout and I hate to state the obvious here but if NitrousKing is offering you the break you’re foolish to not take that offer….

You also started whining when I said I wanted to check out your car before I agreed to anything. You dont race Island which is the only track I bring the Camaro to an a regular basis. I can make it to a different track but I do not know when. I then told you I was done and you dont want to accept that either.. So I guess I won??

I have a pumpgas streetcar that is driven all over on dot tires......you were offered the break and you declined. I wouldn't say you won.....more like exposed!

I'm gonna get a little semantical here but what does "fit in a stock wheel well" really mean? I'm just thinking of all those cars that can fit 29-30" tall x 12-13" wide tires in stock wheel wells (like old mopars) and then those cars that can barely fit a 26x9.5 (like chevy II's). From the pictures I've seen of your car it looks like you're running at least a 28x11.5" tire... You managed to fit that in a stock wheel well with zero modifications? I'm not busting your balls here, I'm just curious because I can only fit 27's unless I take a hammer to my wheel well which makes it no longer "stock" in my opinion...

From the pictures/videos I've seen of NitrousKing's car it definitely appears to be mini-tubbed but does that even matter if you both happened to run the same size tire and both have otherwise stock style suspension?

I know a race will never happen at this point but… because you did a “hack job” by taking a sledge hammer to your car to run a 28x13.5” tire that sticks out past the fender you’re at some sort of disadvantage to someone who properly clearanced their wheel wells to be able to run, say, a 28x11.50 that tucks under the car? (I’m just guessing NK’s tire size based on those videos…) I understand not wanting to line up with back-half cars on steam rollers but declining a race with a car that otherwise sits like yours because of some wheel well modifications seems a bit strange. Whether it be taking a hammer and STRETCHING your wheel wells or taking a cut-off wheel and properly clearancing them, the result is exactly the same.

And again, if some miracle occurs and this race happens I will put up a few bucks on JS’s side just to help get the pot up. Hell, I’ll even race you for a few bucks if you come down here – I’m an f-body with stock wheel wells on pump gas and a 27x10.5” QTP… Easy money for you.
