this is my 2002 v6 camaro. bought it a lil beat up and had alot of it repainted. its a 5speed car, one of my favorite things about the car. it had 50,xxx miles when bought now has roughly 80k and has given me a serious problem since. it current has a leaky slave and is getting the clutch redone so it will be running good as new.

as far as mods go its a v6 so im not even going to dump money into it to get it to move. i picked up a set of headers off here for cheap so those are going on but other than that im leaving the mods to appearance. so far ive added an ss hood and rims, color match shifter and a billet grill. more appearance mods will come in the future.

this is my first car and i couldnt ask for a better one. i plan to drive this one into the ground and i will continue to dd as long as it lasts. id only trade it for another som ss

Sunset orange was a limited color...car looks real good...not too bad for a first car, my first was an '84 h.o z28 that the prev owner spot painted w/the windows down..needless to say 'nothing more needs to be said'.

well it has been more than a year since this thread has been updates. since then ive done a few things to the car

new chrome zr1 rims 17x9.5 with Michelin pilot a/s plus 275.40.70
eibach pro lowering springs
eibach sway bars
bilstein hd shocks and struts

http://imageshack.us/scaled/large/832/img20130107131035.jpg 9.5 rims with +38mm offsets give it a good stance compared to the stock 10 spokes

looks very nice. you get into the details of an ls1 swap? I'm looking to do the same when my 3800 goes also with a 6 speed swap

Looks very good, i hope that is a lesson to all to not leave your hand in the fenderwell when working on the suspension...haha.

i havent looked into the swap much at all, and quite frankly dont want to do it. i much rather buy a ss/z28 with a motor and trans in it already, i need this car to commute with.

as for the project, i would mind swapping and putting motors in that since i wouldnt need to drive with that .

It would make a really nice car to swap since it looks like its in such good shape. Swap it and buy a beater and you can probably save some money over the price of a z or ss. Plus you already know the condition of everything else in the car so no need to worry about it like with a new car.

true, and it would still be a V6 to insurance :bertstare:

i think i may be able to source a t56 for a decent price too, what all would i need to swap? engine, cooling system, trans, computer system, brakes? rear?

The rear should be the same your gears will just be different and probably open diff. Brakes are the same, the ss has a larger radiator, youll need a harness, k-member, pcm, engine, trans. Might as well just get a tubular k-member while your at it. Look for a wrecked ss or z28 that would probably be easiest.

is the suspension any different?

Suspension is all the same I believe where the motor mounts go in it k-member are different

Suspension mounts are the same, but stock spring rates are different. Since OP has aftermarket springs that is most likely fine unless the springs were purchased specifically for a v6 (which isn't likely).

Un likely, but in this case that is the situation.. This is a v6 specific eibach pro series spring kit. Your saying i can run a v8 spring kit and still get a drop? I want the nose lower but a sport line spring kit wasn't available for the v6

Don't swap a damn thing.

By the way, love this shot!: http://imageshack.us/scaled/large/341/screenshot2013040223201.jpg

Looks much better with the front plate removed.

finnally got my hide-away license plate back up and running, it got ripped off putting the car on a trailer when the fuel pump went in wildwood last summer.

funny enough that pic was just taken in my driveway (obviously) with my cell phone after school one day. i as well was suprised with the quality of the pic. i havent got to take the car out with my DSLR to get some decent pics with the lowering kit.
