just curious to see what all you ls1 guys are averaging gas mileage wise highway and city. im in the market for an ls1 and have a 40 mile commute to work, just looking to see what i could expect. also if you could specify if the motor is stock or has mods, and m6 or a4. thanks
Jon
My '01 SS modded on highway was doing around 29mpg(4.5 hour drive) (cammed LS6)
The sixth gear helps a lot if on the highway, same deal with my old CTS-V.

Stock LS1 6 speed with 3.42 gears all highway will do 30 MPG and thats proven by me with over 100,000 miles before I even added the turbo. With the turbo I dropped to 27 MPG on the highway 3.42 gears. With my new build 383 Stroker with turbo and 3.73 12 bolt I dropped to 23-24 mpg on the highway. Stock LS1 with city / highway you should average an easy 24-26 with normal driving.

Just drove from Louisiana here and I avg 25.5 mpg the whole trip.
180,000 mile 2000 a4 3:42 rear 3200 stall long tubes full exhaust lid no egr air or pcv.
Had a #2 misfire on and off from a bad plug AND I was cruising the first half the trip 70-80mph. Cruising the second half the trip 80-90mph with a few 100+mph pulls, still got 24.5.
