i was just told by a friend who is friends with the cops in TR that theres an on going investigation there and cops are posing as racers (unmarked muscle cars, imports, like paul walker in The Fast and the Furious) and since its an on going investigation its not considered entrapment (sp?) if they line up with you. its like when a cop sells you drugs during a drug bust. so if you plan on racing there you may end up with a ticket in the mail

they have been doing or scaring people on 37 for years like this. Just more reason why NOT to race on 37. They have 2 5.0 Mustangs that they are working on. One was supposed to be like a DARE car, but modded to show the performance of what the TRPD can do, and then there is supposed to be a primer'ed LX notch that drives around.

Dont race on 37.

A better solution is to not race at all on the street -- take it to the track.

Don't be a douche.

the only time I was on 37 was about 2 years ago, and a guy in an LX notch (like Al described) lined up next to me at a light and was taunting the hell out of me. Needless to say he looked suspicious from the get go, and the crew cut might have added to my suspicion :D

problem is....EVERYONE AND THERE MOTHER HAS A LX NOTCHBACK 5.0 MUSTANG!! Seriously, the Mustang to any other group of cars ranges from a 5 to 20 to one margin. And a lot of these guys mothers do drive 5.0 Mustangs as well, and they will race. Its hard to keep track of them all cause they are all body filler and 3 inch cowl hood, all have flowmaster with off road x pipe, all have pony or steel rims....clone wars is what it is.

apparently they used to have a Triangle in their back window (like the state troopers logo) that said TRPD Performance and im guessing you all know what that means. but theyve taken it out from what i hear..... and i have a crew cut so that doesnt mean anything lol

If you race on 37 your a dumbass and deserve to be ticketed. You can probably squeeze a race or two down on the manchester side (near slp) but thats still pushin it...The real racers out there go to a certain back road and most of the time its carefree. 37 has been like this since back in the 70's, when I was in hs (92-95) you could still get away w/ running on 37 but the last few years the cops have been clamping down hard.

This just makes me want to go out to 37 with a video camera, find one of these cops, pretend I'm going to race them, and then watch them do something stupid and file a complaint in the township against them. I'd love to see what the Judge and the media would have to say about that one!

Judge: "Well, charges are dismissed cause the cop was acting like a douchebag on purpose to try to catch you."

Gotta love the American Justice system. HOO-AH.

Yeah, there are MANY that just dont care and pretty much trash the place.
I am there just to hang out with car people.
At Stop and Shop, when the cops came and chased everyone out, they left tons of garbage all over the place. That, and doing burn outs and speeding through parking lots, yelling out of your Mommy's SUV doesnt help either.

You missed it. Before, 4 kids in a blue expedition when they were leaving yelled "Alright all you n*ggers and spicks, were leavin' ". Some kid threw a rock at their window. Needless to say they came back with bats.

Only problem is, that I know some cops around me are the ones doing the street racing (in their personal vehicles). The street racing crap everywhere is getting entirely out of control. I live on a rather busy street, however 10 years ago I can remember it being not-so busy. I can remember being able to cross the street and not worrying. In the past 3 years I have been driving and the townhouses down the street have been going up, its getting crazy. There are ALOT of kids out there with their effin rice rockets that fly down my street at around 100 MPH. Its a freaking 45 Zone. There are MANY kids on my street including my two sisters and I hate to think that they have to wait for the bus in the morning. The cops DONT do *****, so its getting REAL close to going vigilante style. A week ago there was a street race down my road (of course two imports)...there are only two lanes so someone was obviously in the wrong lane. I cant tell you the number of times i have almost been rear-ended just trying to get into my driveway. I have followed some people before and know where they ALL live  . I am glad that the cops are actually taking it seriously somewhere. As for the sport bikes that go flying down my road...ive had enough of them I know almost on 3 occasions that I cant even begin to estimate the speed they were going cause it was most likely into the close mid100's If any of you read this...and decide to speed there watchout cause I will put an end to this crap!

/END RANT

Sorry, If you spend 10 minutes at my house you will see exactly why I say these things...

Yea I cant say im entirely innocent, im sure weve all done it in the past, ive always kept it to a minimum though...Yea last time I was on 37 w/ my LT1 (years ago) I think they were comming out of the woodworks to race me...I had about 5 guys try to race me from the parkway 37 west exit to slp  (few 5.0's, Lt1's) , and that was like a weekday @ 9-10 am  . I always thought a stupid streetrace wasnt worth the possible tickets, etc. Ive been called pussy, scared, etc. but o well. I live like 10 mintues from Etown, theres no reason to drive to TR to illegal streetrace...Ill be more then happy to cruise w/ you guys though and BS cars. A buddys and I use to take his Hugger 99 SS up there and just sit @ Checkers, chow and watch everyone blow by, and crack on the rice crowd in White Castle  ...on a nice summer night I can sit there all night long :D ...Hopefully in a few mths ill have something up running.

entraptment pretty much doesn't exist. an example of entraptment ina street racing thing would be if the "cop" posing as a street racer said he'd jsut give you 1 million just to run him. entraptment is when you are asked to do an illegal act, and the rewards from doing it would be to great to refuse. like getting a million dollars just to race someone. another example would be a cop saying he'd give you a million dollars to steal a pack of gum...that would be entrapment.

But laughing about how you beat some ricer or guy in a POS primered stang might just qualify as entrapment :D

It doesnt matter, the courts will back up the cops in pretty much everything they do.
