New LT1 times at Cecil - Updated
Went to the Outlaw Streetcar shootout, for the most part to see if the car launches better. (It did but still have the rearend pushing me out of the groove).
-Missed the first time trial when the car started to piss coolant from a broken rubber cooland line cap. -Second run, the 2nd to 3rd shift didn't go as planned and I managed a 11.94 at 119.88 Mph. -Next run was first round, no clue what to dial in so I figured 11.7 was what I was averaging last year, so I'd use that. I dragged the brakes after about 1000', and broke out. I'm wondering what I would have gotten running out the back door. Left lane #1749 http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...M/IMG_0529.jpg |
Nice dude! 1/8 mph looks good. You are spraying this right? What cam in it?
|
Yes, spraying it. it comes out to about a 75 shot. Still has the hotcam in it.
|
Nice dude, that thing is moving.
|
nice that is quick
|
Well, today went 11.57 and 11.66 in qualifying. Dialed a 11.52 and wound up going 11.375 @119.58 (blew by the guy and nailed the brakes again). Had a 1.59 60'....
Now i can chill and watch everyone else run. |
 Very nice

Update:
Just got back from the track. First 2 qualifiers I got a 11.61 and a 11.53. So dialed in a 11.50 (not allowed to go lower then that) and ran a new best of 11.32. So, was out first round again. Went from 27" to a 26" tire and just bliping the rev limiter as I cross the traps. Trap speeds were 120 and 121 mph. Left lane on this slip... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...B23A2134CA.jpg |
Nice. Do you have any plans to spray more? How is that 12 bolt with the stick? Any whine?
|
Not spraying it more. This setup works just fine for what the rest of the car is. If it aint broke im not fixing it.
And yes, its a race car with everything solid mounted. there is a lot of feedback from the drivetrain. Not sure what stick shift has to do with it though. |
He probably asked you about how its doing with the stick because when it comes to racing, manual cars are definately harder on the drivetrain than automatic cars. I know this all too well :)
P.S. nice times! |
very nice times!
|
Most people say not to even waste time on a 12 bolt with a stick, just seeing how it was holding up because I was in the market. Jeez.
