I like the after pic :)

WayFast84 07-03-2007 10:15 AM

the molding around the window is still there, its just black

thanks. the wheel centers look to black. Im debating on if I should do the pissed off look, wich consists of completly black wheels. and lowering the car. but the lowering will be later.

BlackBADaSS02 07-03-2007 11:41 AM

Looks much better.

 Yeah true.

Matt, as I mentioned before, I wouldn't completely black out the diamond spoke wheels. They have a polished lip for a reason. If you want all black wheels, sell the diamond spokes and get all black wheels. I haven't checked TGO for the diamond spoke market in a while, but last year they were selling like hotcakes. Good sets were making 300-400.

WayFast84 07-04-2007 09:23 PM

damn 300-400?

but then again I can see how a good set can get that high.

I told you meng, im not selling these till they have been on a few thirdgens. so far they have been on two since Ive owned them
engine in, hood on, hows the stance?

Slo86Bird 07-04-2007 10:22 PM

car looks good...needs ttops tho. if there was any problems with today lemme know.

WayFast84 07-04-2007 11:52 PM

not a problem at all today except i wasnt there..

Ohh yeah dave, remember theese arent a good set, i have one 87 wheel and then 3 of the different ones...

BonzoHansen 07-05-2007 08:19 AM

Matt, GM used black door locks on lots of cars, shoud be an easy swap. Much tougher then anything you could paint at home. I might even have a set, not sure. I bet Paul does.

Slo86Bird 07-05-2007 08:25 AM

if i were you, i wouldnt paint them cuz they chip easily and look like $h!t cuz both of my cars have it and they both chipped and look like crap. or u could shave them and get door poppers. bahahahahahaha.

WayFast84 07-05-2007 09:48 AM

Im going to change to black door locks and handles. the handles where just to see if I liked them and I do. Im gonna pay some one to change the locks, and the handles later, my drivers side handle rubs my door, wich created bare metal which then created rust.

My priority's are

get the car running
shiftkit and tc lock up
maaco fixes the crap they messed up on
weather stripping
door locks and handles
rear
sub frame connectors

and then im done with this car. with the exception of wheels and tires(slicks/skinnys)

hows the stance in this pic?

BonzoHansen 07-05-2007 10:04 AM

Locks are easy to change. Take off door panels, 2 clips per side - one for rod, one big C clip for lock to door.

You might grab the hatch lock cyl from donor car if you can, or you will need a 3rd key (t-tops too). A locksmith can probably re-key t-top and hatch cyls is needed.

WayFast84 07-05-2007 10:45 AM

no ttops here. wait, so Id need 3 keys? damn 2 is hard enough!!

BonzoHansen 07-05-2007 12:05 PM

But you got a trunk release, not that bad.

i do?

don't make assumptions..

Like i said before

its a base firebird, with a v8,power windows and a defogger, it HAD air. I had wire 14x7's. I DON'T have a hatch release. and If I did, It probably wouldn't work..

BonzoHansen 07-05-2007 12:27 PM

Oh, I thought they all had hatch release. Oh well, change/rekey the lock cyl or 3 keys!

zuuhlsT/A 07-05-2007 05:48 PM

Doesn't the WS6 Store sell block offs for the door locks?:?: They just tape on and you can paint them the color of the car.

WayFast84 07-05-2007 08:36 PM

how will i lock/unlock my doors?

read, i said, I have power windows, a defroster and a v8, thats it, No power locks in there..
