Detailed the first normal car of the season

NOTE: PLEASE KEEP ALL QUESTIONS REGUARDING PRICES ETC. TO PMS AS IM NOT A SPONSOR YET (WILL BE VERY SOON) AND ONLY DO THIS PART TIME WHEN IM NOT WORKING AT MY NORMAL JOB

Well i guess it had to happen sometime this is the first "normal driver" that ive done this season. Heres plenty of pics of what my average detail looks like (ie: not being told i dont care what it costs make it perfect as most of us are on a budget and dont have 350 plus to spend cleaning a car)

Heres a couple before the wash and claybar...

Heres a couple after the wash and claybar (yes the paint is scuffed and yes the bird crap is etched into the clear coat as its been sitting there since last fall and yes the trim is faded and stained)

DaSkinnyGuy 04-07-2008 06:13 AM

This jeep actually showed how much work you had to put into.

V 04-07-2008 07:33 AM

you're doing my SS before its gets put away when i deploy. lol

Mike 04-07-2008 09:07 AM

same jeep you did last year?

Untamed 04-07-2008 09:20 AM

Thats awesome. What a difference a few hours, blood, sweat and tears makes huh?

Yea hes a friend though not so much a customer so i dont think he'll mind... and yes mike the same one i did last year

Mike 04-07-2008 12:03 PM

i dont understand the need to blur a plate, thousands of people see your plate on the road every day, wtf is the difference

Rich189 04-07-2008 03:49 PM

I dont know honestly i do it for people im not good friends with just for the sake of doing it

V 04-07-2008 03:54 PM

in spring valley NY, at the car gatherings where kids would show off their cars, i know at least back in the day, some people would copy down plate numbers of specific cars and then obtain the address. At a later point, they would go stake out the address and attempt to steal the car, and often suceed.

Mike 04-07-2008 04:06 PM

right, but that can happen on your commute to work, not just from pictures

ls1ssws6 04-07-2008 06:26 PM

so when can i drop my t/a off? :-P looks good

sweetbmxrider 04-07-2008 07:00 PM

If its a Trail Blazer SS its no big deal. But if its a Lambo Murcielago, suggesting money, it may be an issue.

I'd do it for all cars as a courtesy.

Theres an old post someone brought up with a lambo murc im actually doing it again sometime this month i also just did a 599 gtb and a novitec rosso f430

How long does it take you? I definitely want to have you do my Camaro, and know the general vicinity that you live in.. Don't really want to drop the car off and get a ride back, then need a ride back to pick up.. The gas would cost the same as the detail

maybe, since its a customer it makes sense for rich to blur his pics, but im talking the people that go out to do a shoot of their own car, and then blur the plates....1 it attracts the eye to the plate more than the car. 2 people see your plate every day

if your taking pics and dont want your plate known, why not keep a wrench or screwdriver in the trunk and take them off during the shoot

and i WISH someone would copy my plate and come to my house, they will leave with more holes then they came with, i promise

Yeah I get ya. The magazines always remove the plates and replace them with the magazine name or something. I think Steel and Skin does the same.

In any case, looks like Rich is building up some clientel. Definately see why. :)

Rich, may want to work the Nationals - bring a bucket and supplies early in the morning for the show crowd. Not a full detail, but a wash and wax might be in demand after the cars drive in.

I sent you a pm but normally takes me about 6-8 hours to do an exterior and about 2 for an interior and about an hour for an engine bay (although ls1's for some reason always come out looking like crap because all the metal is so porus even though its clean)

I'll be a sponsor as of next week (im getting together a half assed website and stuff right now and ill make a nicer one over the next month or so) so ill hopfully be working out a few things for nationals and maybe something like a detail and photoshoot package with alex but id like to get my sponsorship up and going before talking to them

Iroc-z86 04-08-2008 10:05 PM
