BigAls87Z28 05-22-2008 06:07 PM

Yes, due to the chassis engineerd by Aussies, gas filler is on passanger side.

And yes, that is the DI V6 that will be the base motor for Camaro.

ar0ck 05-22-2008 06:45 PM

"Slated to bow in the first quarter of 2009 as an early 2010 model, it's expected that the Camaro will be offered in three trim levels — LS, LT and SS. The base LS may be powered by Chevy's 3.5-liter pushrod V-6 making about 220 bhp. The LT models would use the overhead-cam direct-injected 3.6-liter V-6 developing upward of 300 bhp, while the SS will be powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 (similar to that found in the Corvette) tuned to produce around 400–405 bhp. A year after launch, Chevy will introduce a convertible version and after that a high-performance Z28 model with a super-charged 6.2-liter sibling to the Corvette ZR1's LS9 motor known as the LSA. That engine would make somewhere in the neighborhood of 480–500 bhp and is similar to the engine used in the upcoming Cadillac CTS-V."

Z28 back to being the big dog it should be. Cool.

Most of that is wrong.
There will be NO 3.5 V6. The V6 will be only the 3.6 V6 Direct Injection similar to the one found in the CTS and upcoming Chevy Traverse. This will boost power while boosting fuel economy.
LS3 will be available, but could see more power then the G8 GXP.
Z28 getting the LSA. Good, but I wish it was more like a direct injected 6.2 making 550hp instead of supercharged. Something about a big heavy supercharger and all the plumming does not go along with the racey Z28 idea to me.

BonzoHansen 05-23-2008 02:58 PM

LOL, isn't the GM 3.5 a HONDA motor?

Eh...,no.the 3.5 Overhead Valve High Value V6 is from the 60* V6 models 2.8/3.1/3.4. 3.5 and 3.9 are revised and also incorperate Variable Valve Timing.
The 3.5 Honda motor was only in the Saturn Vue V6 models for only a few years. the new Vue uses the 3.5 OHV V6 and 3.6 DOHC V6.
