How many miles have you gotten out of your brakes.

I do alot of interstate driving so i rarely have to use my brakes. Everyone has their own commute, and style of driving but want to see an average.

sweetbmxrider 08-10-2010 07:25 AM

35-45k is average. i've seen over 90k on original brakes.

FlyingDutchman 08-10-2010 07:47 AM

got 15k on mine now, still have plenty of meat.

WildBillyT 08-10-2010 08:54 AM

On my GP, probably 50-60k.

KirkEvil 08-10-2010 09:11 AM

Im at about 35k on hawk HP+ pads and there is still a ton of pad left. Nice little braking upgrade too...

redsoxsstink 08-10-2010 09:17 AM

LS1Hawk 08-10-2010 09:43 AM

So far about 35k on my truck (including towing) with lots of life left.

For my buddys drums on his CJ ... one trip into the woods with the cheapo autozone ones and the pads came off the shoes....

PS... not knocking them Al, just thats what they were

DaSkinnyGuy 08-10-2010 11:46 AM

Well since i got the car ive driven 50,000 miles when i got the car the brakes had roughly 5,000 miles on them. I looked at the pads theres a good amount of pad left. So im good for awhile.

Squirrel 08-10-2010 12:25 PM

i only changed the pads in the TA once (had it for ~35k) and i beat the **** out of that car everytime it got driven... the rotors on the riv are going, will need to fix that eventually

LS1Hawk 08-10-2010 01:04 PM

On my Firehawk, it currently has 34K on it and I only had to shave the front rotors once. The pads have never been replaced.

91chevywt 08-10-2010 04:18 PM

My old chevy half-ton went 150k miles on the original pads up front before the wear indicators hit the rotors. My dad had it from new, and it ended up in my hands. Front pads were never changed.

Other than that, about 50k seems to be the norm for my stuff.

NastyEllEssWon 08-10-2010 06:16 PM

75k on the ions original brakes

misterjuice 08-10-2010 09:54 PM

68000 miles on my 2000 Z28...before I returned it....wasn't low or warped

74000 miles on my 2004 SRT4...again...before I traded it in...still wasn't low or warped

currently 30000 miles on my G8...

qwikz28 08-10-2010 10:45 PM

on the saturn: replaced at around 85k. had some life left in them too, especially the rear drums.

BigRocsFirebird 08-11-2010 12:12 AM

well our 08 f-250 is at 183k miles on the same pad and rotors.. its a work truck daily driven on highway.
