what about the positive cable?
if that cable goes from the battery to the starter, and you cant jump the car from the battery, there is an issue there.

so the positive cable is good from the battery to the starter, and it wont jump from it? There is a problem with either the ground connections/lugs or the positive connection/lugs

Im quite a fan of UMI, they make a really good product, but if the issues is exhaust clearance, the jegster arm is the best hands down. I have heard that they are only good to a certain power level...

have you tried putting the nuts on, just enough that the bolts threads are not sicking out, and beating on them with a BFH to see if you can break them loose?

at idle the voltage is 12.5v, but steady. even with headlights, fuel pump, fans, dome light, ect on.
at least that...

You can put a chain through the spring so it wont fly out, then lower the arm with the jack...
