also see while your grabbing that intake to grab the explorer heads as well, they are GT40 heads on certain year explorers.

okie dokie...its a 302 HO. not a "windsor" block, its the windsor family of motors though.

as long as its a 302 you can swap on the GT40/cobra/explorer upper&lower intake, and also the GT40 heads will drop right on. GT40"P" heads have a different spark plug angle and can cause problems with certain headers and/or spark plug wires/routing

the intake is good for a decent gain in HP, and youll have a slightly higher powerband. keep in mind that the throttle body opening on these intakes is also larger (65mm i believe) so a step up in throttle body size would help a little too, or if you stick witht he stock one do a little blending on the intake to match the TB.

Also, on the explorer intake. It doesnt have the hole in the #5 runner for the intake air temp sensor, but that can be drilled and tapped easily. just keep that in mind

oh and yes, the explorer/GT40/cobra intakes all have VERY similar flow numbers, all were dyno tested back to back and were within a few HP/TQ of each other through the powerband. If you have the extra cash ditch the stock E7 heads and get the GT40, maybe along with some 1.7 rockers if youre feeling adventurous

annnnnnnnd also keep in mind your EGR setup when purchasing a new intake, not sure how it is on the trucks but its internal in most of the intakes
