What is it about turbo buicks

Why is it that turbo buick cars have no problems with modifications and the right suspensions runing 10's and faster? But when a chevy v6 gets a cam and heads and a custom turbo kit, it doesnt go nearly as fast? Whats different about the buick verses chevys v6?

Im sorry if this is in the wrong place

1. its called aftermarket support, look into it
2. TB's were set up for boost from the factory, a regular n/a v6 was not...turbo buicks can run upwards of 20 pounds of boost on the stock motor if set up correctly, where as an N/a block turned boosted can run say 6-8...

the gn / tta 3800 engine has absolutely nothing similar to a series II 3800 (95.5 - 02 f-bodies) except for the displacement. Their heads and intakes are designed much better

What kind of Chevy V6? Only Chevy V6 I can think of are the 60* 2.8/3.1/3.4/3.5/3.9 OHV ones, and the 4.3 V6.
The 3.8 is a 90* V6 and the engines were built to handle the boost. Now, if you compare the TTA to the GN, equally modded, then there is a difference.

Kasey, I dont care what you have to say at all. The TTA has different heads then the Turbo Buick's, yet is much faster.

Which still has no relevance to what he was saying.

As having ridden in both (with the same mods) I have to agree.
Plus the TType doesnt have the aerodynamics of a Cracker Box

If the buick was fired differently why cant the chevy v6's have the same firing order with a different cam, like the 3-7(i think thats it) swap cam sorts of thing

If they were seroius about making something new they probably wouldnt have been such a pos. Instead they plopped a tiny water to air intercooled turbo kit on a stock 4.3 (yes its the same engine) a locked out transfer case and the same crappy differentials ooo but they have a locker in the front. At least the turbo buicks were totally engineered to be a performance car. Low compression, turbo, intercooler, sfi, and a strong enough drivetrain to handle the power.
If you cant tell I work on my fair share of both of these cars.

Amen. The turbo 4.3's aren't even in the same league as the Buick 3.8's
