Cadillac unveils next gen CTS engine: TT-V6
http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...14-cts-117093/
420hp. Thats just awesome, lol.
I'm just thinking, if that's the BASE model engine for the new CTS, what does that mean for the ATS-V? still a TT-v6 or now a v8? A modded TTv6 in the ATS chassis would make 450+ and the thing would fly.
I am definitely holding off on my next car purchase to see what the 2014 ATS-V will offer.

MPG numbers are a little weak. Doesn't MB have a bi-turbo already?
Agreed though, a TTV6 CTS is a good move. There should be a "smoother" transition between a base CTS and a CTSV.
8-speed auto?!? Not sure if I like that, but I'm sure the genpop will drool over that stat.

keep in mind that the next cts is getting bigger for the next gen so 420hp would be respectable. its only 100hp more in a heavier car.

That looks to be an internally upgraded and turbo charged 3.6L - same engine as in my 2011 LaCrosse, think it is rated at 320hp NA in some versions. Heard they are sticking this in the upcoming Grand National and GNX versions of the Regal - 4wd drivetrain.

First off, thanks for the link-back brah.
This will be the top, non-V engine. Base engine for the CTS will be the 2.0T, than the 3.6, than this. This is to go head to head with the Germans/Japanese's V8 engines.
The ATS-V will have a slightly more powerful version of this engine. This will also go into the XTS sedan.

MPG is in line with the V8 variants of everything else in it's class. MPGs are not that big of a deal then.
MB and BMW have twin-turbo V8s that make around the same power as this TTV6. BMW's 4.4TT is larger and makes less power than the LF3.
The 8spd auto is an Aisin unit, not the GM unit which will come later.

Next CTS will be slightly larger, but lighter than the current one. Driving this will be similar to driving your CTS-V.

There is no talk of putting this is the proposed Alpha Buick, but it's possible.

i find it annoying when a 4spd auto hunts for gears, the 6 spd auto i drove had a slap stick and was barely manageable. i couldnt imagine hunting though 8 gears, ughhhhhh. should make funny noises with aftermarket exhausts though

I'm sure the torque curve for the 8 cylinders will spank this thing in light to light driving.

I have to look at the graph again, but there is a flat, mesa-like 430ftlbs of torque from around 2,200rpms to redline.

The graph I saw for the Ecotech 2.0 Turbo was very similar if I remember correctly. This should be a pretty awesome engine too

Makes me sad that this engine won't have a stick mated to it. It'd be cool for fan boys trying to have fun without shelling so much for the V.
Anyone have an idea what price the TTV6 will start at?

Depending on the version twin turbo V8
402 hp at 5,000 rpm's
443 tq from 1600 - 4750 rpm's
429 hp at 5,250 rpm's
516 tq from 1800 - 3500 rpm's
Torque wins.......but they are heavy.
You will see MB's getting lighter as they get redesigned.
I'm hopeful this twin turbo V6 w/ 8 speed tranny makes it into the camaro - that will be a great car.

Yes, those shots are very promising.
My only thought is that the tail lights look very "traditional Cadillac" from that angle - not sure if that's a good thing or not yet.
