Got another kill last night
My rear
You can probably go ahead and take me out of the drag battle. 12 bolts are expensive.

Ouch...that sux Rob.
Why bother with a 12 bolt? Just rip a used 10 bolt and buy a good carrier and gears. Then get the axle tubes welded and throw a good diff. cover on it. That will be half the price of the 12 bolt, and it will last a while.

But thats just a bandaid. Band daids always fall off no matter what kind.
He mine as well go big and get it done the first time, and have it for when he goes for more power down the road.

how long did you run (and consistently race???) with your 10-bolt? i say build a decent 10 bolt and womp on that...when it becomes absolutely positive that you need a 12 bolt get it...unless of course u have a sick head/cam setup planned

i still got my 10 bolt for cheap disk to disk you'd just have to swap over your gears and a new carrier...be 1/6th the price of a 12 bolt and would probably last you as long as your stocker.

those 10 bolts suck. i blew mine twice. Go for the 12 bolt, i think itll be worth it in the long run. Soon i'm going to a ford 9" , i'm buying a prefabricated housing and having the mounting brackets from my one old 10 bolt tig welded on that. then i'll have 2 center sections setup with gears so i can swap them when i want, one with 3:73s and the other with 2:50s or such for top speed. But i've heard great things about 12 bolts, i just like 9" since the gears are easliy swapped just by changing entire the 3rd members.
