When I had my 98 V6 firebird I thought that car was a pain in the ass to work on. Then I got the LS1 T/A and thought that was a pain to work on. Now we have the LT1 also and that seems to be a pain to work on. Its just the F-body platform all together.I dont think it matters what engine they put in it its still a Pain especially if you are not use to working on them!!

Like posted previously, all V8 4th gens are a pita to work on. The LS is just easier then the LT.

wow! good call.. i didnt realize how much it opens up the side for plug changes when you delete the ac box.... sweet... now im really happy i did it!!!! haha my car is going to be so "plaint jane" and simple under the hood i dont think anything will be hard to work on anymore... damn ls1 nut huggers.... ls1's really arent that much easier to work on... they slightly are for tune ups and such.. but thats about it... the rest of the car is pretty much the same... i still dont understand why you guys hate on the lt1 so much... loosers..

Uh oh, you just opened up a can of worms there, lol. On a side note I catching crap from a seriously arrogant LS1 owner over the weekend. Apparently L98's aren't supposed to last 140K...they usually blow up a lot earlier...they don't last as long as LS1 in any situation I was told.
Gotta love it

F-body's get even harder to work on when you stuff a 632 cu/in. Dart big block in one.

The LS1 was a bigger PITA when it comes to the rear passenger side spark plug and wire when doing headers and I've done them on both engines. The best thing about the LS1 is that it makes a good 30-50 hp more than an LT1 with the same mods and still idles smooth as can be and passes inspection easily! Radiator! Give me a break!

JEFF YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! ALl you have to do is remove the passenger side coilpacks and you have easy access. I changed all the plugs and wires on my 00 Vette and my back them 00 Formula in less than 2hrs taking my time. ALso did headers on my last 00 Formula with a member here took us less than 4hrs from beginning to end. It took me a hour to run my plug wires on my last LT1 a few years back and i wouldn't do it again.
I do love the LT1 sound and the front end of LT1 cars. Also owned one with 180k that ran like a top
THE LS1 IS EASY TO WORK ON FOR ANYONE WITH ANY KIND OF MECHANICAL SKILL!!!!!

Based on what I see around here and other places, you don't even need that.

So 30-40 minutes later after removing the AIR pipes, moving the wire harness, trying to find the rear coil(you can't even see it) I would have had the starter dropped on an LT1 and the plug out and new one in and starter back in place. LS1's are not easier than LT1's to work on in a 4th gen. They each have their different PITA parts to deal with.

Atleast LT1 are REAL 350 ci. not 346. MY LT1 has 190000 and runs 13s all day with only full exhaust.
Some LS1 people seem like the most arrogant people on earth. God bless the LS1. Put it to rest already its a dinosaur motor. Theres the LS2, LS6, hell theres an LS7 and a niner in there right? LS1 and dinos. update ur motors.
If i get this new jobie I'll have a N/A LT1 motor that will put most LS1s to shame.

Your car is full weight? LS1s came stock with slicks and skinnies?
Geez, guess GM caught on to the 5.0 craze... does your car have flowmasters?
