Unless you get real lucky (which can happen) or have a way-back machine, you are not touching a 1st gen for $1k. We're seeing shells with good vin & cowl tags going past $2k, and a lot higher if it is a special car.
The Nova is a more realistic goal. I take it you are ready for lot of body work?

You'll need it when you have to replace almost all the sheet metal.
Right WildBilly?

Har har.
You will be working with metal beyond your wildest dreams if you find a First gen Z under $1000.

the price of cars is getting outrageous. The amount of money people are getting for "junk" has gone through the roof, and finding a good "Deal" is getting harder and harder to do. I will keep my eyes out, once in a while I find stuff for really good prices. I know of a really bad shape 67 that I can probably get you for next to nothing, but its really really bad. If you are interested in earlier year Novas I may be able to help you out...
