I'm a pretty tall guy but I still couldn't justify a large truck "just to have." If I had to haul stuff I'd get the lightest pickup they made with the most basic interior and no options. That's a TRUCK, not these living rooms on wheels...
Also, if going big truck, turbo diesel is the way to go. Even when not towing a lot those things get great milage compared to their gas burning alternatives.

Im thinking thats a wrong move.
Turbo or Procharger will require higher octane gas, and incase you havent filled up in the past 8-10 months, hi-test aint cheap.
TD will give you much more flexability in power, and it dont get much cheaper then diesel gas. When someone can make 1200ftlbs from a stock gas engine, you let me know. Untill then, if you are gunna spend the cash for a HD Chevy or any HD truck, diesel owns you.

Too much truck. I was contemplating a 2500 but dont justifly that either.
The 6.0 is great but a gas hog. At work i drive a 02 2500 hd sstandard cab long bed and with 3.73's its gets ****** milage for a new truck i beleive.
Thats why when i bought my truck, I opted against 4wd and gotten the 4.8 motor. Does all i need it to do.

Geez, if you just wanted to haul stuff you should have bought my 454SS last year. 10,000 lb towing capacity and it even got 14 mpg on the highway with the overdrive! 9 mpg if you drive like Matt!
