				83 camaro questions, parts car i found...

			i got a chance to pick up an 83 z28 parts car but i dont know if i will for sure. I have yet to go look at it but its up in NY waiting for me, lol. Its a running/driving ttop z28 auto and has the functional factory fiberglass ram air hood, 305 crossfire engine and 700r4 trans, the one thing that got me was what i was told about the interior, it has the "camaro" upholestry on door panels and seats, but what threw me is that the seats have headrests and are power. also i was told it says "camaro contuer"(or soemthign like that) on the seats. if i remember back when i dealt with 3rd gens more, there was some rare seat option, if anyone has any info about this, let me know. If i get the car, i already have a buyer for it whole or just the crossfire engine, so i may part it or not, i dunno, work is keeping me busy. My price is dirt cheap to get the car so i may pick it up just for the hell of it and decide what to do with it in a few months. EMAIL me if you got REAL info, i dont have time to check these boards. thansk in advance. -Paul

			I knew there was a Recaro T/A didn't know there was a camaro. Also the crossfire engine isn't junk, it just has issues. Biggest of which is the computer. You can get an upgraded computer and a X-ram manifold and pick up about 40HP on them. I almost went that setup for awhile but it was too pricey. Before you chop it up (if you buy it) shoot me the VIN and I will see what I can find out about it. Also where is it in NY? I may be able to take a look for you.

			That was a special option only offered in late 93 and into 94, I'll say it's rare, but not sure if it gives the car enough value to save? Â*
 It was the Contour addition. Â*It included Seats ( front + rear ), door panels, and the lower body strips that matched. Â*There were two color options. Â*I had the Orange/red, the other was blue ( and maybe grey).

Package consisted of Front seats with adjustable headrest, manual recline, side bolster, and lumbart and the front thigh adjustment plus 6-way power. Â*Very confortable!

 It didn't sell well because it was exspensive ( I think near $1,000 option. )

Can't see the seats to good on this page, but they matched the lower stripes

 If the seats are in fair shape and you want to sell them please let me know!

			I was reading in a issue of High Performance Pontiac, a lot of people ditched their crossfire setup for something that was a little more efficient. However, according to the mag you can make decent money selling the crossfire setup. Some people are into bringing these things back to factory specs.

			Crossfire = noes!
Friend has a vette with it.
Not only does it not make all that much power, but it is a total PITA to tune.

And its not like its even worth anything (cant even get $2)

Although like anything else, in 20 years, who knows

			I had 2 crossfire setups that needed complete rebuilds and I got over $100 for each, a good set can run between $400 and $500 is you really hold out for that price.

			ok, so i was right about the rare/expensive power seat option. i knew about the recaros but i knew the camaros had somethign of their own. The car runs and drives fine, just had some of the undercarriage bashed up, and no title, so if i get it, i'm 99% sure ill be parting it out. I just wanted to be sure i'll be able to get enough out of the car to make it worth my while stripping it and trying to sell parts.
