i've owned a 4th gen lt1... and now just a 4th gen 3800... but the 98-02 camaro is my personal favorite style.. just looks so bad@$$... when a person sees that behind them.. there is NO better way to say to someone.. "hey mr! get the *BEEP* out of my way!"

I would buy the cars in this order:
- 4th Gen LS1 (Pontiac) - fast and very drivable on the street.
1st Gen (Pontiac) - One word: Classic
2nd Gen (Pontiac) - a nice '73 SD 8)
3rd Gen (Chevy if its a mid to late 80's, Pontiac if it's newer) - IMHO, the one time Chevy had Pontiac beat in the looks dept.
4th Gen LT1 - Skip it :P

my own personal preferences are:
1. 4th gen LS1 Camaro SS - this will be the foundation for my project next year.
2. 1st gen '69 Camaro - If it were up to me, a blue with white stripes Z28.
3. 4th gen LS1 T/A WS6 - one of the most badass-looking cars in history.
4. 3rd gen Camaro Z28 - who doesn't like a nicely-done 3rd gen?
5. 2nd gen, "Smoky and the Bandit" T/A - love that car...

I'm with Al, '69 is teh best. Then I'd say a '76 T/A, love that nose, then a '91/'92 Firehawk.

in this order. This is only counting factory offerings. When it's done, my iroc will basically be at the top of this list, but it's nothing like anything that came from the factory.
1.91/92 firehawk
2.89 turbo trans am
3.69 camaro convertible of most varieties
4.clean iroc/thirdgen z28 convertible
5.69 camaro of most varieties - rs/ss tops the list though.
6.early second gen camaro split bumper z28 with the 4 round tails
7.30th anniversary ta
8.96-97 camaro ss
9.84 Trans AM w62 gfx package - ho 5 speed, t-tops
10.All the rest
with the two exceptions on this list, i'm not a big 4th gen fan. I like most thirdgens all around, but in terms of birds, the 3 on the list are king, and for camaros i like most of them, but the standouts are the verts, and a hardtop iroc which i already have. Second gens, early camaros rule, and late trans ams rule. Some other configurations are nice too. And realistically i'd take any first gen at this point, but they're getting really hard to find, especially cheap, and they're getting more expensive to work on as well.

It all depends what I want to do. If I want to race it, LS1. If I want to go for looks, 1st gen.

I'm a little biased since I've had at least 10 first gen Camaros. But I only have 1 right now!

next on the list is a '70 split bumper. someday i might own a 4th, maybe a '00 SS or '02 'bird. there just isn't that burning desire to own one like there is with the earlier cars.
i like the first and second gens because i grew up on them. the third gen was fairly popular to own once i was out on my own and pulling down a decent paycheck. when the fourth gens first came out i thought they were ugly as sin - how could GM disgrace the camaro and firebird like that? - but they grew on me eventually. kind of like everytime cadillac does a major change to their body styles...

Well like most, I saw Smokey and the Bandit and just never got over the Black and Gold. Despite getting an 88TA for free, I still cant get the late second gens outta my mind, so had to vote for the second gens.

im assuming we are talking about looks?
Id go with:
1. Â*First gen camaro
2. Â*first gen bird
3. Â*third gen camaro
4. ls1 t/a (ws6s are the best)
5. 2nd gen bird
6. Â*2nd gen camaro
7. Â*LT1 camaro
8. Â*third gen t/a or bird
9. Â*ls1 camaro
10. LT1 bird
mainly reasons why i have it ordered that way is the flip up headlights just dont do it for me. Â*as for the ls1 camaro...resembles a catfish.

1970 Z28 I'd get it in that puke green looking color. I think Al's RS is that color. I love it!

Can I just have at least one of each generations top performer?
But If I had to be specific :
1st Gen - Has to be a Camaro
2nd Gen - Has to be a Camaro
3rd Gen - Late Model Camaro or Firebird
4th Gen LT1 - Camaro or Firebird
4th Gen LS1 - Firebird
Most likely my next car will be an LS1 Trans Am or a Z06

4th gen LS1 T/A WS6 8)
I have seen every kind of f-body in my rear view, but nothing scares me like when I see a 98+ WS6 come rolling up behind me.
